550 Maranello with recent #27k of work by Emblem but with a long minor fault list could be a cheap way into F V12 ownership for someone with time to work through it

I think that car was in Emblem earlier this year when I picked up my 3200. I looked at one briefly whilst I was there and recall that it was bought by the current owner at auction and subsequently needed quite a lot of money spending on it. It'd be a nice car for touring Europe in being a left hooker. Not sure I'm brave enough to take it on; in any case, someone will probably bid too much for it .... This one could be an even cheaper way into a V12: https://collectingcars.com/for-sale/1995-ferrari-456-gt-5

To me still one of the Best looking Coupés ever with great mechanicals.
Loving the colour and trim too.
A lot of Car there with some interesting mods and money spent on it.Screenshot_20230827090240.png

550 Maranello is still my almost attainable dream car, but I have been tracking 612 Scaglietti prices, they start to look tempting for a fair bit less than a 550 if you go for an F1 box model....

Have broken myself in the the Gransport F1 box at least....

Still, borrowing at 8% doesn't look attractive and is probably one of the reasons they are looking more attractive price wise!

Good 612s are great and I was lucky to have an excellent one for 2 years with no depreciation and minimal servicing costs but they are getting hard to find and, like many V12 Ferraris, can be eye wateringly expensive if they need work. May be easier to find a good F12?

I would love an F12 even more; just ain't got the means! One day!!!

Is the 612 fun to drive or a bit too grown up?
