CAR AUCTIONS

It'll be interesting to see how this one does. Looks like it's had a bit of a hard life to me with a bit of rust on the suspension wishbones, a few scrapes to the paintwork, an airbag light that's on, a service record that looks a bit thin with no sign of any cambelt changes or the critical torque check ...

Probably reach around 30k? Thoughts?
Decent cars with FSH are advertised at around £45K retail, so I expect £25-30K ought to be about max auction / trade for a car in that condition. However, if such common sense prevails, it probably won't sell and it'll end up as a classified advert. I expect they're hoping for about £35K(?). I quite fancy a 4C but I don't know that I'd want to start with this, it'd take quite a lot of effort, time and money to bring it back ...

Interesting to compare results at recent Bonhams auction of these two;

Similar vintage and mileage and price. I think Maseratis have a somewhat worse reputation for depreciation than is always fair.

I doubt that anyone spending 100k back in 2011 on Merc/BMW/Audi high performance saloon will be looking at 30-40k compared to the QPV GTS we have seen of late either.

I was told by @Crofty that the nuts holding stuff to the carbon fibre tub need tightening every so often which is part of the service, adding to the expense of owning. Doesn't look like it has been serviced by a specialist during the current 6 year ownership

Not auctions but an opportunity to get a good look at both a Fiat Dino 2000 & 2400 both of which look in great condition. I know Alex so going to try if I can see them whilst I'm over in the UK in November although I know which I prefer just from the delicate styling.
