CAR AUCTIONS

Richard Grace had a lovely red Biturbo Spyder many years ago that I was interested in but couldn’t sell my car quick enough to raise the funds. I looked at a white one in a dealers in Meriden, the guy dealt mostly in Porsches, it was nice but needed tidying. As time has gone on I think they really have aged well and because of their rarity create a lot of interest. One pulled up at the Italian car day at the Ox and Plough in Old Buckenham last year, there was lots of nice Italian machinery on show but the Biturbo Spyder created the most interest. It was on a ‘E’ reg so guessing it was 2.5.
There’s a white Chrome grille Spyder on Carandclassic auctions atm. Last I saw it was about £10k

This is potentially a nice car. He’s been trying to sell it for about a year now, at around £20k. I inspected it at Emblem, and it has history with them. It’s in good mechanical condition, just needs a little more love/investment.
Depending on the reserve, it could make a good buy at auction. I might have had a dabble if I’d not just bought the Spyder last week.
I suspect he’ll want high teens, and it’s worth that.
Might it sneak through cheaply, at maybe £15k? That would be a fabulous buy.
Good luck to any bidders. (#henrysdad ?)
You’d want to know whether the a-pillar rust is the trim or the a-pillar itself. Wing is probably holed, and around there that’s often inner wing, bulkhead and a pillar. That’s potentially a big bill!!

Maaaybe? I'll have a closer look. The A pillar does worry me though.

Looks like the front wing would have to come off to get at that, and as I don’t see any bolts along the inside of the bonnet drain channel it must be welded on. Maybe that’s why it wasn’t done with the earlier work(?) … A more difficult DIY at the very least, which ought to devalue it significantly.

That QP IV Evo would be a great buy. Low owners, very low mileage, the Shamal V8 engine, and a manual gearbox. It ticks every box!
If anyone on here wants a QP IV, go for it, as a better option will not come along.
If I didn't already have a V8 QP IV I'd buy it. Simple as that.

That QP IV looks stunning, great colour combo and as you say manual with low miles

Indeed. It would be viewed by most as the pinnacle of QP IV production.
But having had three of those, I actually now prefer the pre-EVO "Ottocilindri" version. But I am very much in the minority on that!

Yes indeedy. Mine was a relatively simple procedure but the bill – justified, I might add – was probably the most I've ever spent on a car that wasn't actually an entire car. In fact it probably added up to 3/4 of all car purchases I've ever made

I was at the H&H Duxford viewing today, auction is tomorrow.

I was not there to look at it but there is a 3200 with no reserve. Only had a very cursory look.

It seemed not too bad overall, sagging headliner, some rear arch bubbles on one side, bumper and bonnet paint match not good.

Nice colour combo, seemed in relatively normal condition under the bonnet cosmetically.

Apologies if it’s a forum members car, thought might be of interest to someone :)

On another note I would love to buy this Fiat 2300S

Classy and rare car:) for early 30k could be a good buy, can’t stretch to it at the moment unfortunately :)

A lampredi straight six with Abarth tuning tc, not lots of power but they sound great :)

was keeping an eye on that, must of set a bloomin high reserve
Yeah, I thought that was a very reasonably auction price for a Cat S LHD car with ugly bumpers on it. It's now back up with a Buy it Now of £54k.

Early carb coupe coming up next, but having had a quick look I think there could be some rust issues to deal with ...
