Brexit Deal

My knee-jerk response for the Brexit referendum result was to move to Denmark and get citizenship there, without checking it takes 8 years. Tried Ireland but the tax and expense there is even more than Denmark with none of the benefits, so sacked that one too.

Back in UK now, more and more convinced that there will be no proper Brexit, we'll end up with a UK Model, basically a Swiss Model, not even a Norway Model, with extra bits to facilitate the complexities of the CTA with Ireland, IoM and CI (CIIOM at the bank!) Gib. and other bits, Falkands? They're British Citizens too but not part of UK...

Or maybe go back to Russia, more freedom there now than the West, easy money, po blatu, pod stolom, get yourself a 'Krisha' ie 'roof/ceiling' to pay off the taxman cheap, minimal tax, what's not to like? Beer's good, food is good if you like pig fat, women - well.....!

France is doing it for me and some stylish women here too.
Just hope I can get in and out of the UK easily when I need too.

Still have the house in Sicily, personally can't see it making the slightest difference one way or the other.

I wouldn't want to be a Brit living in Europe after next March as you never know..
Al, you could always blag it and say your house in Sicily actually belongs to me;)( Italian citizenship since 1990) better than the Mafia grabbing it!

In my first month of living in France I have found the people to be very welcoming and pleased that I'm here no negative comments so far.
I'm costing the country nothing and paying my way even not having earned anything since September.
I'm staying put and getting my Citizenship.

This whole shambles is just a political ruse to disregard the vote to leave. Basically the politicians on all sides want to keep the status quo as it suits their own ends to rip us all off and make more money for them and the corporations that they all end up working for.

Is there any other reason we have Corbin and May as our 'saviours'?

my wife has been banging on about how house prices will plummet and all the other doom and gloom stuff if no deal, quite frankly I don't give a sh1t as long as I can keep my motors and man cave;)

I remember all the scare mongering over Tony Benn's appointment to the cabinet as Energy Secretary or whatever. He was seen as the devil incarnate by the popular press and nothing really changed

I hope they do as I want to move up, bring it on I say. 10 years and they will be back to where they were anyway so why not take advantage plus it will be easier or first time buyers to get on the property ladder.

Its not like we are ever going to see any of the money tied up in our houses if we end our days in the UK.

More money for silly V8 things...win, win.

And that's a bad thing? If you buy a house to live in then no issue at all.

all in the same boat if things go to sh1t anyway, would happily live in my man cave, just need a large screen tv (at least 65inch) and a fridge for the beers, bada bing:lol:

I think the intrest rates going up would be far more of an issue. Can’t afford to pay your mortgage any longer, but can’t sell up because of negative equity.

Both together makes it difficult if you already have a mortgage.

Interest rates go up and your house value goes down. Your LTV takes a hit and then your LTV band jumps and you are paying an even higher interest rate.

When I was in Denmark folks had negative rate mortgages and my Danske Bank account had negative interest, not much but still..

Still can't get my head round that.........
