My relocation to Luxembourg (or Belgium as a frontalier) now things are getting nearer are throwing up all sorts of problems for me, BE gov want health insurance from me despite the Withdrawal Agreement saying I don't need it as I moved there before 31/12/20, I've had to get europa.eu involved.

And I still not sure as a frontalier hoe it works for me, living in one EU state and working in another.

Narrow minded bigots effed it right up for me!

Which narrow minded bigots are those?

Oh come! Come! It's well proven that everyone that voted leave is a sofa surfing, overweight, ill-educated, narrow minded, xenophobic bigot. Never let it be said that anyone with a differing view on social media can be anything other than stupid.

@Wanderer this is not a personal dig, but generalisations have a nasty habit of breaking down. Probably including this one. (i.e. the generalisations about generalisations, for the avoidance of doubt)

Apology accepted. FWIW, I voted leave and it wasn’t because of bigotry, xenophobia or narrow mindedness.

Ooooh what was it then? Knowing how good UK governments royally screws everything up (both sides) I could foresee how much of a huge c0ck up withdrawal would be.

I voted to leave Europe whilst accepting it might end in tears. Despite what has happened, is happening and will happen I would vote the same way again without hesitation.
Ian can you expand on your reasons as I genuinely want to know ?
I know you don't really like the French but you do like coming over here for our nice roads.

I posted on the early days of this thread that I weighed up the arguments pro and con and found they were pretty equal and opposite. What was I to do?
I then realised that I was not the same person in attitude outlook and temperament as say a French car worker, a Greek farmer a German financial advisor etc etc. I have met and worked with a few in my time to reach that conclusion. I was happy with a trade organisation but not a political one so I voted to leave and I would repeat that choice today. I am indeed proud to be British for all of our faults
Others may not agree with my rationale but hey ho that is what I did

Unfortunately Benny’s 8 cars are meat eaters and are deep fat fryer lovers.

Presumably your 2Cv is a salad lover and your Jaaaaaag is on a low carb diet ;)

If the EU was just a trading bloc I would have voted to stay. However, it isn’t, it’s the wet dream of Euro politicians and I don’t want to be a part of that. The french; they will always try to screw us over. Whenever there is an internal political problem with truckers, farmers etc the first thing they do is blockade the channel ports which causes mass disruption this side. The Germans; tried twice to conquer Europe, failed but have now succeeded politically. The Italians; corrupt, feckless fops. The Greeks; where do I start? Sure, the Brits aren’t perfect and these days can be described as fat, beer sodden w4nkers but we aren’t the same as the rest of Europe and trying to treat everyone the same just won’t work.

A good parallel is the Covid situation; the rules put in place are starting to p!ss people off, because it’s a blunt instrument that caters for the lowest common denominator. In this case it’s the old, the obese, the smokers, those with underlying health issues, etc, and the young and healthy are objecting. I know the young can die too but there is a massively reduced risk. Even in a single country politics can’t cater for the needs of everyone never mind those across an entire continent. Different languages, financial situations, personal aspirations, even the weather means that everyone has different needs and trying to become the United States of Europe is a political thing. Something that the Brussels elite want but, as is becoming apparent, not what the person in the street particularly wants.

You’ve asked so I’ve answered, but I’m not interested in a discussion because I won’t change your mind and you won’t change mine. Let sleeping dogs lie. Woof.
