Well I'm not sure - if you look at what he's said in the past it's a bit mixed. But you can change your mind, or take the party line, or listen to public opinion and sacrifice your personal beliefs.

The Election is a tactic though, Boris is setting an obvious trap even Benny of Crossroads would spot.
Don't get me wrong I lean more to the left but I'm afraid Corbyn and his cronies imho are toxic. The youngsters thought it would be clever electing Corbyn as leader but all they've done is consign Labour to be in opposition.

@Wanderer no doubt he is a true politician and from the grass roots and all that

But as you said, not a leader, certainly not a charismatic one and the pro-remain stance is against his own ideology however as a grass roots politician he must consider the greater good

Don't really like lib dems either - not down to Clegg I thought he was decent - slightly brought me round to them - they support some shadey organisation in the middle east which I do not agree with.

Probably have to vote Green then #nocrook

Quote of the day has to go to Wanderer.
Even Benny of Crossroads would spot it.
Do you reckon he would ask Miss Diane first though ?

Sorry what do you think this says about him? Genuinely curious

C
That he's dog tired and on the bus with the ordinaries. No limo, no taxi, no dicking about on zip-wires or playing a guitar on the wrong side of the capo .

I know its only a pic and we don't know the circs, could have been shopping in Lidl (not Waitrose) but I still like the man, as a man (not in a gay way obvs) and you can't say that in general about any other one in parliament at the moment. Not sure I like Starmer, even though he's probably a better Labour bet....

I cant any toxicity, naivety yes, idealism yes, again it's going back to what I said previously about the EU, I want a solid stable empathic, diverse, tolerant UK, a happy healthy workforce is what we should be aiming for, not creaming off every last spare bit of money and dignity ordinary people have left cos that's what we've got now.

Gotta stop sniffing Ajax.....

Sure, I remember the power cuts, the three day week, the Miners' strike. Oh, wait, that was the Tories.....

Yea, the tories were the problem. :banghead2: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Winter_of_Discontent , https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1976_IMF_crisis

"The 1976 IMF Crisis was a financial crisis in the United Kingdom in 1976 which forced James Callaghan's Labour Party government to borrow $3.9 billion ($17.2 billion in 2018)[1] from the International Monetary Fund (IMF),[2] at the time the largest loan ever to have been requested from the IMF. "

Imagine the UK being bailed out by the IMF because it had been run into the ground. Now imagine that Corbyn's political views haven't changed a bit since then...

Just wonder if the previous government's policies had any influence? Britain was already broken...

What I don't understand is people on benefits, not all benefits mind you, but I'm sure you all know as well as me there are millions of people , British citizens on benefits, that are quite capable but unwilling to work, this country should be a pristine place to live, make them do something for their ******* handouts...

Have you ever had to live off benefits? I have. You have to have extremely low ambition or self esteem to want to live like that. I don't recommend it. I ended up a single father with five kids when they lost their mother and I was totally on my árse, ended up in Lochside, Dumfries amongst the druggies, whores, dickheads, thugs, villains, the detrius of life - some total mental tw@ts I can tell you.

I'd hit bottom, I fought out, I was/am intelligent but lazy hence needing to be kicked to do something.

Some people have no choice, they aren't clever, they can't comprehend ambition, they want things like we do, love, life, kids but can't escape. That can't be kicked, they have no reflex action, nothing to fall back on.

So please don't think people are happy on benefits, it's a shiite state of affairs for anyone, just a lot have no escape.

And UK benefits are just about the worst in Europe, so refugees don't come here for that...

I did not mean to tar everyone on benefits with the same brush, but I disagree, for some it has become a career option, god knows I come across plenty everyday.
