I agree, free movement is incorrectly enforced in the U.K. too. If folks who came here for more than 3 months had health insurance we would probably have a lot more hospitals!

Darn that freedom of movement of people, goods and services that enables any European citizen to travel for work and business and make a living for themselves across the other 27 EU countries. Darn those elites who trouser a load of dough across the EU while simultaneously telling us in the U.K nope you can’t do the same & deny us those very freedoms. Tax in one EU country or another, is tax. Which ever EU country you decide to live or work in, you are paying tax in one form or another. Basically to get any job you’ll need a bank account and so when opening a bank account you have to declare where this money is/has come from and declare your income if any. The first thing you are asked to do is provide your proof of identity ie a passport, a utility bill, an address. If it’s good enough for say a Tory politician to base a business in Dublin its good enough for me.
