Brexit Deal

That is very good and exactly what i had tried to write before I got sarcy.....very quickly.

I would also add that "free movement" can be used for economic purposes which may not be in the public interests, but can be in the interests of members of the public.

By way of an example, many countries in Europe, lets say Cyprus, never used to stamp people from European countries in or out of the country.....perhaps it was asssumed everyone would be leaving after their holiday. This allowed a friend of mine to live in one such country, (lets use Cyprus again for consistency) to effectively disappear for years without paying tax as he officially wasn't there......or indeed anywhere. The benefit to the Uk of this is that lots of money was invested in the Uk housing market- boosting the UK economy....while Cyprus went bankrupt....

Many other European countries are probably implimenting the same practice at their borders......the economic opportunities for the Uk just need to be investigated....

No sarcasm, just fact.

So I understand this correctly, people were going to Cyprus and not paying tax for years on end (is that U.K. tax or Cypriot tax?) and using the money saved to invest in the U.K. housing market?

How many people were doing this?

Correct, Cypriot tax (as they had left their own countries) and no idea.....not just the Uk housing market (others too) I guess.

Free movement, incorrectly inforced!

Please can everyone stop calling Boris Johnson "Boris" in everything you write about him.
All other politicians are called by their surname or both names not just by their Christian name.
Please only call him Johnson when referring to him.
Why should he be referred to by his Christian name only. He is not your buddy nor your best friend I assume.
For full disclosure I can't stand the man, he is more Pennywise the clown than politician.

He should have stayed a journalist. All those calling him intelligent should get out and meet some intelligent people. He’s an opportunist actor.

I agree, free movement is incorrectly enforced in the U.K. too. If folks who came here for more than 3 months had health insurance we would probably have a lot more hospitals!

In regards to the enforcement, do you see this as a function of the individual member states or as a function of an EU body?

Down to member states I guess but I’d be very surprised if there wasn’t an Eu law broken by such slack procedures at border customs.
At one point I reckon half to two thirds of Cyprus spoke Russian.....

Darn that freedom of movement of people, goods and services that enables any European citizen to travel for work and business and make a living for themselves across the other 27 EU countries. Darn those elites who trouser a load of dough across the EU while simultaneously telling us in the U.K nope you can’t do the same & deny us those very freedoms. Tax in one EU country or another, is tax. Which ever EU country you decide to live or work in, you are paying tax in one form or another. Basically to get any job you’ll need a bank account and so when opening a bank account you have to declare where this money is/has come from and declare your income if any. The first thing you are asked to do is provide your proof of identity ie a passport, a utility bill, an address. If it’s good enough for say a Tory politician to base a business in Dublin its good enough for me.:D

PS..I think Half of London also speaks/spoke Russian at one time or another;)

There is no tax harmonisation within the EU, and tax is due where the work is done.

Those are my tenets when I get roles in EU

On his paternal side of Turkish ancestry...You know this is what I love about my country, it’s welcoming and open to people of different nationalities, backgrounds, creeds and cultures. A place where anyone from anywhere can come and make something of themselves and a life for themselves.......:D What do you mean BJ, that Turkey is joining the EU?!

Following on from my Farage is an Ar5e, I can also confirm Johnson is a Buffoon and would be more suited to a circus than government (although on recent form you could argue there is little difference)

So basically you haven’t a clue, but you’ll slag off “Brexiteers” cos there are so many other remain options that you can’t think of any!

To be fair I suspect many people felt that Alexander Boris de Pfeffel Johnson was an ar$e and a buffoon long before he proved his lack of integrity with how he dealt with the Brexit issue....

Just want to chuck this in here
Remainer entrepreneur who crowdfunded to prosecute Boris Johnson spent £50,000 of donations on cupcakes, self-defence classes and a luxury flat with private gym
  • Remainer Marcus Ball, 29, has crowdfunded £370,000 for private prosecution
  • He successfully lobbied court to bring misconduct case against Boris Johnson
  • But own finances reveal he has spent nearly £50,000 of donations on himself
  • Figures show he spent hundreds of pounds on self-defence and cupcakes
  • He also splashed out more than £6,000 on luxury flat in Canary Wharf
ERRR.....WTF...

Whereas Theresa Mary May was a trusted and highly respected minister before she proved she was an ar$e and a buffoon with a total lack of integrity after she dealt with the Brexit issue ......
