Brexit Deal

Not sure that’s the legal position anymore Geoff,
If Europe says NO I think legally we leave with no deal.....who knows, i’m struggling to keep up its such a mess with all these amendment bills etc...., can we still revoke Article 50.....in those circumstances - they’re effectively saying we don’t want you.
If May revokes A50 the Conservatives are TOTALLY finished..DESTROYED....if they aren’t already.
No deal was only ever our bargaining chip (along with the cash)
Fiasco. Stupid woman.

Wattie - I mean this is a kind, supportive, friendly SM way, but you are so one-sided I’m amazed you don’t topple over!....

Of course we could revoke Article 50. What power would anyone have to stop us?

I find it hilariously ironic that those who feel strongest about Leave don’t appear to realise that May is possibly their strongest chance of getting what they asked for.

Also, before you say (in 101 different ways) that there’s no way that what May is trying to achieve is not what you voted for, let me replay back your most used argument....

Leave means Leave - there was nothing (zip, nada, nowt) in the referendum about the terms of that departure...

Just updated my post Jon after some research. You are correct re A50 and I’ve included that situation.
Disagree with you re May.....if she is the strongest chance leavers had, I’d hate to see the worst option.
I think we’re both equally as one sided as each other......leave meant leave, Mays deal doesn’t let us leave without Eu approval.
None of us voted leave to allow the Eu to vote on allowing us to leave.
Ridiculous.

Have seen the edits, and I agree with your revised assessment.

Pretty much the only thing that Parliament has agreed on is that a no-deal exit must be avoided. As such, if the EU leaders were to say “No, there can be no more extensions” then I wouldn’t be at all surprised if that led to Article 50 being revoked.

This is exactly why I say that, right now, Theresa May is the best chance the Leave campaigners have of actually achieving Britain leaving the EU.

If it wasn’t such a massive clusterfuck, it would be funny...

Looks like a few are of like mind.
The Eu are now openly stating "you can change your mind".
The scene is set. Its a disgrace.
May regarded Brexit as a problem to solve, not as an opportunity.

The Eu have controlled May from day1. It will be interesting to see if out of the blue (no-ones expecting anything other than a long extension) they suddenly announce Veto......no extension. They're far smarter and astute than our pathetic, feeble representative and that forces the A50 revocation.....Brexit ended by end of the week.

I will surprised if they dont.

My god what honour comes from last night? May couldn’t have fcuk’d up Brexit any more, I despair.

Travelling in the van to site yesterday I talked to my younger daughter about the whole euro/compound instability juggernaut. She like most students had no idea and was shocked when I demonstrated it. Just another 16.8 million to get to open their eyes!

I am sick to death of the whole story and the clowns that act in it.
Never have politicians been so far removed from the will of the people
What is the point?
I guess only the remainers will vote in the Euro elections
I will probably vote but spoil the paper..................

I’m still trying to figure out why Europe blew it last night??

Why didn’t they Veto any extension......are they that scared of a no deal deal crash out (even though its apparantly off the British table) that they didn’t take the chance?

A veto would surely have led to May revoking article 50 wouldn’t it.....?

Now we’ve got 6months for May to trip accidentally down the stairs, appoint a Brexiteer PM, grow some nuts and get across to Brussels and make them wish they’d paid attention to Macron.

Meanwhile the bumbling buffoon is still pushing her ******* atrocious deal, which literally Remainers and leavers all think is atrocious..... her end is surely in sight....10,000 signatures required to change Tory party policy apparently.....shouldn’t be too difficult after her performance.

Well step 1 in the master plan is complete.
So an extension to 31st October.
The next extension will be for 12 months.
May is playing the long game. The longer it goes on the higher the chances that we will either.
A) Lose interest and vote to remain.
B) Someone else will crash out of the EU and it will save us the bother.
C) Everyone will leave the EU and we’ll be the only ones left! :p

High stakes poker now.

A veto would either mean no deal Brexit or revoking article 50.
The EU folded. They obviously didn’t think they held the best cards.

Which is exactly been my point all along Geoff, threatening no deal (which we never did with any belief) would have led to a much better deal than Mays atrocious piece of pish!!
