Yes indeed. My point was rather that no one said it (unless someone can find me a quote?)

Catman it’s nuts I tell you, the world is truly nuts, on one side of the Atlantic you’ve got “alternative facts” Trump attacking, trying to discredit the legitimate institutions and news outlets, then creating fear and a whole stir up about Mexicans being “bad ombrés” and a distant irrelevant invasion of a migrant caravan that are apparently all “rapists” and “bad people”, then you’ve got that same method being applied here in the U.K. What better way to get support than that of enragaging people with a warped truth of a perceived enemy.

The last 25 years we have been drip fed a diet of anti EU sentiment by the very same people who claim to speak for the masses against the “metropolitan elites”. Who owns the Telegraph? The very same brothers who own the Ritz hotel, who also bank rolled Brexit along with the Daily Mail (the ex editor now Teresa May’s advisor at no.10), The Sun, The Daily Express, the list goes on......

Who’s gaining? The ERG who wanted a hard Brexit but all of a sudden realise they might lose it all together then vote for Mays deal (having hated it from the beginning because we become a rule taker, or as JRM put it two years ago a vassal state). So they voted to make us slaves then? The very thing they also claimed that the EU membership was/is??

Their dialogue has moved from we hold all the cards, easiest deal in history, we are going to be much better off, we are going to thrive, to now we’ll be ok, we’ll survive...with heavy references to the World Wars. What changed? Why won’t the government publish and release the financial impact of no deal or of leaving the EU.

Who else gains? The ones selling the papars that continue to sell the con by keeping people enraged, how do you deflect when the game is up? By getting people to question their own legitimate institutions, sovereign parliament and apparently moderates (read lefty liberals). Since when were they “the enemies of the people“ (a headline from the Daily Mail).

Parliament is resisting a no deal or anything that is detrimental to the country because it sees the impact, can you imagine the discourse and outrage there would be to pay, for people getting poorer (long after the head bangers have scarperd). Who’ll be blamed for that when the game is up? The EU? Unlikely. Parliament for not doing enough? There is no Brexit scenario that is better than the one we currently have as member of the EU.

It sucks but quite right that the only thing you or I can do if you care to question what you see is fact check it. Now tell me how many people are even bothering..

Funny no mention of that immigration invasion from the EU and no talk of the immigration that is coming from the rest of the world? But lots of talk and rage by the same proponents of Brexit at our sovereign parliament doing its job. The same Sovereignty that apparently was non existent by being in the EU.:D Bonkers just bonkers.

Hang on, we had 1 vote to leave. WON. Simple really, didn’t involve any deals did it?
Leave or remain.
LEAVE.
Then the intelligent bunch got involved. Principles, my ****, not one of them even that woman, zero.

The HOC offered 8 votes ON REMAIN and they were all rejected....no MP’s can decide on how we remain in the Eu!!!! They cannot decide how we remain.

The remainers are causing the problem, until of course I become PM.
New Day, New Dawn........national speed limits 130mph in school zones etc. Oh and the May Day holiday is *** cancelled!!!!
8?

Would you vote for May's deal?

But its leaving the EU. It's what was voted for. And herein lies the problem that the vote was too vague, promises empty, and people poorly informed.
It absolutely not leaving the Eu. We can’t without their permission!!!, if it was actually leaving the Eu it would have gone thru, 1st vote.
It’s diabolical, hence it’s constant defeats.

On Breakfast TV this morning the was that idiot who owns Wetherspoons who said that there would no problem with a no deal Brexit.
Also on the same programme was the head of the British food retailers who said that a no deal Brexit would be calamitous for the UK as the increase tariffs and check would result in delays and shortages to those at the end of the supply chain.
Basically the poorer you are the harder you are hit.

The Spoons guy’s target is the lower end, so he would stand to profit.
The British food retailer would just tell it how it is.

This just shows that people in a place of influence only do what is best for themselves.

It didn't go through because people had different ideas about what leave looked like - but it was still leaving the EU.

Explain to me how it’s leaving the Eu. Talk me through your understanding of the backstop.
Who voted to leave the Eu with both hands tied behind their back, subservient to the Eu and only if they (all 27!!!) allow us to do it?

Once Tim Martin stands on one side of an argument I am pretty sure I will be stood on the opposite side - having worked for him a lot of people applaud his non-conformist view on most things but to me he is nothing more than a bigoted bully.

Backstop is GFA which we signed up to. EU making sure we keep to it. Nothing more. Unless you think we should break treaties.

Again if the electorate weren't so badly informed or mislead it would help to avoid where we are now.

However. It's still leaving the EU. No more payments. No more meps. That is leave. Regardless of backstop. That's TMs own making.

I would argue that 99.99% of people only do what’s best for themselves, look to that House on a river in London as an example....
Therein lies my problem.....I often do what's best for others. If I always did what was good for me I would be a very weathy but likely lonely mutli millionaire by now.

Some people could learn to have a more selfless attitude and the world would be a much better place. Now back down to earth with a crash!
