Autocar's website has more on this. I find it strange that my dealer knows nothing about this if it is coming out next year. I have mixed thoughts:

-prefer coupes to saloons;
-is it too cheap to sell in a showroom next to a Ferrari? If so will that old idea of selling Masers through Alfa showrooms re-emerge?
-will it be any good due to the nature of the donor parts?
-will Maserati themselves make it (badge engineering)? and
-what are the implications for GranTurismo values?

Surely this is to do with the Euro emmisions legislation requiring manufacurers to have low emmision cars in their range? Cheaper for Mas to adopt and rebadge a panda or like Ferrari pass it off as a tribute using a 500 Arbarth. Aston have done it with the re-badged iQ....

I had thought Maserati would get around this because of Fiat making nothing but small cars?

Its a real betrayal of what they stand for.............. forced on them by ludicrous EU etc legislation......utter nonsense.....am hoping....that NO-ONE buys it..................and what they should do is price it £1 below the GT...to ensure its utter horribleness never sees the light of day...........:)....:)

As I understood it this is the abandoned Alfa 169 project based On the all new Chrsler 300c with even a diesel....god no!

If it is the 169 you can bet it will be a handsome begger but fear this will do to much damage and devalue the brand. I can picture the Top Gear review now.
