Hi All,

Can anyone tell me how to force a gearbox re-learn using the Autel AP200 on my 2013 MC shift.

I just can’t see where to do it in the menu?

Also - my PIS position is 4.30 rather than the 4.19 that Matt suggests - how can I manually change this?

All I can see is ‘restore default values’ which I am reluctant to do if I have no way of putting back to current values.

Is this beyond the capability of an AP200?

Thanks in advance

Word of warning - I managed to brick up a TCU using a Chinese copy of Launch trying to re-teach speed shift on the gearbox. It took a lot of software wizardry to sort out the mess. We as a community gained a lot of knowledge and now bricked up TCUs can be restored to working condition, but I would rather drive to SportsItalia/ AV Engineering/ Autoshield/ Emblem etc to have genuine SD3 hooked up to your car…

That’s exactly what I’m worried about.

Maybe I’ll leave it until next service

I managed to do it on my Launch without any problems. If your not too far, your welcome to come and use it. I'm in Christchurch, Cambridgeshire.

As for the PIS point, it needs to be tighter than a Nun’s chuff. A renowned workshop (on here, not Matt) set mine to about 5.8 to disguise another problem which he tried to obscure. Btw, if you ask, I won’t tell you who it is, but if you hang around long enough you’ll find out the hard way like everyone else. Trust me, it was like driving a greasy stick up a dog’s ar5e, and I spent a lot more money in trying to sort the issue. Be warned, the clutch is not always to blame.

Thanks for the offer but I’m in Derbyshire.

I only wanted to tinker as mine has dropped into N when cold and under load a couple of times.

I think it might have been your thread that I read.

I set PIS at 4.65 as standard on a 4200 and 4.19 on GT.. If you set it lower to say below 4 the car will creep at idie and this wear the clutch out.

Indeed. Try one set at 5.8, and you’ll quickly find out it’s as slack as a Yak. The most annoying thing was that the person in question thought I wouldn’t notice how bad it drove, and the fact he convinced me the recent clutch was at fault. Having replaced a perfectly good clutch, he then charged me just about full price (£2800) for a repair that wasn’t needed. On top of that, his mechanic stripped/broke all but 4 of the wheel well bolts and didn’t replace them. He never could admit that it was an incorrect diagnosis, and just one of the reasons why I won’t use him again.
