Has anyone replaced the front to rear brake pipes, and petrol pipe, that run the length of the car at the near side. Looks like mine are in dire need of replacement. Started weeping once disturbed, 5 years in storage has not been kind.IMG20230426140604.jpg

Demonstrates the value of an MOT Allan, easy to miss.
Exactly! I'm going to replace the lot, looks like I'll have to make them up, once I understand what size fittings etc. I need. The routing and access looks a pain, especially at the rear.

Not experienced in modern (ish) cars, but the route over the bulkhead/firewall is usually the most problematic! Plus with ABS etc. there is a world more pipe than there used to be.

I've done a few older ones, minis mgbs etc. The caliper hard pipes and the two front to rear are the ones requiring replacement, the abs ones in the engine bay all appear good. The flexis will no doubt need done as they will probably get graunched getting everything apart.

Absolutely, I like to live dangerously. Similar spec to what the Assetto Corsa was delivered with, ( tread pattern not as pretty mind.)

Looking good. My AC was also in a long hibernation until recently. Also need to refurbish my wheels. Funny you mention the hand markings in the suspension as I noticed mine also had some hand scribbling there which I found it odd …

Made a start on the brakes today. Caliper to flexis removed, will fabricate new, just not decided on copper, easiest to form, or plastic coated steel, which more difficult, but I feel may be more resilient to stone damage.

Can't believe just how shot these pipes are, mostly at the clips and where they pass through a foam piece on the chassis rail.

23 odd years and Scottish roads!

Keep up the great work Allan, I'd recommend all 3200's take a close look at their own pipes based upon this.

not just scottish roads, Allan lives close to the sea so i am surprised he is not showing rust in certain places as well............but then, only his nurse would notice that to be fair ;)

Plenty rust on me these days lol. To be fair to the car underside was mostly flakey paint on the jacking points, underside of the radiator mount, and anti roll bar, looked horrible but fundamentally sound. The subframes are solid with virtually no paint loss , so I'm impressed with that. The 3200 appears quite well built underneath.
