I have started lavishing some tlc on the AC , after a few years of storage. Quite rusty, mostly surface rust, and peeling paint underneath. Alloys are away for powder coating, so started underneath. Wheel arch liners out, and front undertray almost off, a couple of siezed bolts near the centre. I noticed the shocks though they have been marked in pen "ANT Racing CX" Any idea what this may mean?

Ant might be for Anterior = front.

No idea about the rest though.

No markings on the rear, just the fronts as stated. Maybe someone set them up?

My Sunbeam Tiger suspension was professionally set up and has hand painted markings, so I think you could be right.

Could it not be SX (sinistra/left) ? In that case, the other should be marked DX....
No , I thought that initially, but both definitely marked CX .

Great to hear the car is getting some more love, as someone who has owned a car twice (albeit a classic Mini rather than a Maserati) and who let that car rot rather than find the time to look after it, I very much approve of doing what I never managed!

On topic, perhaps this is simply a sign of the hand built nature of these cars, and the marks were used simply to indicate these shocks weren't regular ones.
Does the AC have different shocks to the regular 3200?

I owe it to the car to get her back up where she belongs. Other than surface rust, I have a leaking steering rack, nearside this time, the offside was done a few years ago so hopefully straightforward, and the brakepipes are basically shot before and after the flexis, so new required .

Just for information my local garage replaced all of the metal brake lines on my 3200 at a quarter of the cost of buying them from Eurospares.

Another quick question, never noticed this before, but is this for balance of the disc?IMG20230408140817.jpg

A bit more attention paid to the underside of the car. The pipes running the length, along the nearside sill , are looking very tired, and I also need new solid pipes on the front calipers. Looks reasonably straight forward although the long pipes routing may be awkward. Any tips?

Make your own out of Kunifer, they are probably NLA from Maserati anyway.
