Been thinking
I know it's bad for me
Lockdowns have not work long term. Circuit breaks will not stop the virus
The virus is still out there
I am of the opinion now that we should go back to 'normal'. If and when hospitals cannot cope then that is a question of doctors and government making priorities as to who to treat.
Herd immunity will eventually kick in and the fittest survive. As for oldies (I am one) I will take every precaution I can. Students and yoof will probably survive anyway. Care homes etc will struggle. Schools will manage.
This may be an unpopular view but I cannot see any other viable alternative.
Tell me and I will change my opinion
Totally agreed mate and with youngsters today not wanting to go into the Trades if there's lots of rebuilding to be done after this disaster it's the older skilled generation that will be doing it.The big downside I see to that is it’s not the yoof or students that run the railways, fix the roads, prescribe you antibiotics or control the power stations. Most of the specialist professions are reliant on fat old fokers with diabetes, heart disease and emphysema. The lot I work with are on their last legs as it is. Give them a dose of Covid and we’re all buggered.
I believe that your opinion above, is exactly what the powers that be hoped and banked upon since day one. Personally I would like to save as many life’s as possible, if that means reducing the stress on the NHS, if even for a limited period of time, and gaining a breathing space by stopping drunks and other idiots spreading Covid then shutting down pubs and restricting interaction is valid. When you say hospitals won’t cope, that’s true. You obviously don’t have any family or friends working front line already struggling, and are exposed to Covid every day, then go home to their families with a constant fear. All depends on how pretty you are sitting and how far it is away from you, irrespective of age. I think a breathing space is required right now, it’s not going to stop the spread, but asking people to be sensible hasn’t worked. I have read others opinions on here that we are not being strict enough on enforcement, that is 100% true. I say if you are a d1ck head then you should be locked down.Been thinking

Not the case I am afraid and think you presume too much on my circs.I believe that your opinion above, is exactly what the powers that be hoped and banked upon since day one. I had to suffer Cabot Circus a month or so ago and did pass comment we'll get what we deserve - and we are - very few were following the guidance.
But what is confusing me is the Giro D'Italia Grand Tour bike race - supposedly Italy has only a few cases, yet, to-date, two teams have had to withdraw because of the virus, but no teams had it during the Tour de France and apparently France had a much higher infection rate........
And what would that fringe idiot have done to improve the situation? It’s very easy for everyone to voice an opinion on what should be done but being in the hot seat having to make the decisions is very, very different. SAGE are the villains of the piece; they are forever calling for harsher measures but they aren’t, ultimately, answerable. Their jobs aren’t at risk and they will get full pay whatever happens, so it doesn’t matter to them if there is a permanent lockdown. Presently, they are calling for a full lockdown so if there is a major spike under the present 3 tier system, Boris is in the crosshairs. If there isn’t, it doesn’t matter to SAGE because they will say he was lucky. It doesn’t matter who is in power at the moment, it would still be the same therefore, IMO, it isn’t the time for petty political point scoring.
