Read it was a specific batch (1 million doses) that they came from.

Italians have also stopped administering the vaccine but only doses from that batch.
Well all the more for us then. EU haven't exactly bathed themselves in glory thus far. I feel sorry for the EU citizens who are being denied perfectly good vaccine. Will lead to a lot more lives being lost because of their dithering.

I would, but my tin-foil hat is preventing the ingress of fresh ideas. In fact, it's getting a bit stale in there.
Your sarcastic comment suggests to me that you’re incorrectly wearing your tin foil hat with the shiny side inwards.
This is a classic/common schoolboy error.
Please remedy promptly to ensure maximum protection.

I might not common.

But I am increasingly likened to The Tin Man.

Is your foil hat capable of pulling 5g?
It does 11g. But that’s different joke.

Anyway, I’ll be fully traceable by next week, or dead, having been injected with a killer venom designed by Bill Gates and a sinister cabal of powerful white men planning global domination and a new world order. I’m flattered to believe that I pose a threat to their dastardly plans.

My twin brother has had the Astra Zenica vaccine in Gloucestershire today and the GP said after he asked that it was now slowing him down reasuring people it's okay.
But they were still getting through 12 a minute at the centre I was at and with the younger age groups who are generally mobile.

As conspiracy theories go that's really quite ridiculous. Bill Gates doesn't have that kind of clout; it was Elon Musk, and the whole point of his SpaceX programme is to provide an escape route if your counter attack works.

And, of course, Starlink provides the global tracking infrastructure

I made my hat from an old Yugo fender, but the quality of the tin was suspect. I think I need better metal for more protection.

Kids have come home with their covid test kits, to self test twice a week.
Shame they aren't made at least in Europe, seeing as we must be paying billions for them.

Which highlights my point made elsewhere.
39 total deaths from under 19 year olds in a year.
More get run over.
So if they test +ve it’s isolation, lost school time, parents need time off work to look after, school classes and social contacts shut/ Teachers? Etc etc etc

Around 25 million of them......potentially “deadly” spreaders.

Unless they have plans for mandatory vaccination of children how is this ever gonna resolve itself?

Meanwhile, this is the news in Russia, according to the BBC.

Accusations that the AstraZeneca vaccine is unsafe have received extensive and mostly unquestioning coverage in Russia.
Pro-Kremlin media are contrasting the jab with Russia's own vaccine, Sputnik V, which they describe as "the world's best".
"A tremendous vaccine scandal: Britain's AstraZeneca is killing people across the world," claimed the presenter of 60 Minut, a talk show on Russia's most popular TV station Rossiya 1.
"Thank God no-one in Russia has been vaccinated with it," he added.
Russian commentators have given short shrift to assurances by the World Health Organisation and the European Medicines Agency (EMA) that there is no indication that the AstraZeneca vaccine causes blood clots.
Instead, state TV's Channel One falsely claimed that the jab caused "deaths and side-effects".
The vaccine used in Britain may be lethal - according to Russian TV - but at least the UK has a vaccine, and Brexit should be thanked for that, several commentators have argued.
"Had London not divorced the EU, London would be standing before Brussels cap in hand," said NTV television.
Because of problems with vaccination in Europe, the EU's existence itself is now in question, Russian media have suggested.
"Why do we need the EU if it can't protect our lives?" is the question often asked in Europe, according to one commentator on Rossiya 1.
And if the EU does fall apart, rest assured Russia will have played a role, the Kremlin-funded TV channel said.
"Will we break up the European Union?" asked a presenter on Rossiya 1 TV. "We will. We will. Or it will fall apart on its own," she said.

My youngest bought the same back today too.

My eldest was only back at school for just over an hour on the first day back last week - apparently he had close contact with a confirmed case for a few minutes when they went in to have their initial tests.

He was sent home to isolate for 10 days. No virtual lessons so he's just been sitting around the house with nothing to do. The "positive" case he had contact with subsequently went away and had a proper test which came back negative. But the school insisted on him isolating.

With the number of deaths so low outside of the vulnerable and over 50's, all of whom either are already vaccinated or will be soon, it will be interesting to see how things develop as restrictions are lifted.

This whole things has always been about the NHS and their capacity. With the vaccine removing a huge amount of load for them we are in a much better position than last year.

Carried out the first home test on my daughter this evening. Negative.
The school insists you record every test result to NHS Test and trace, even if negative.
You have to scan the QR code of the test strip and then it takes ages to select the school, names, dob ect ect.
Will get well ****** off doing all that for two kids twice a week, when a negative result.
Can see the parents soon not bothering!
