If you're doing a lot of cycling and you're not gasping for breath it would seem unlikely that you have low O2

Unless my lungs are working much harder than they should. Hence the high systolic blood pressure I have?
(see blood pressure thread).

Not sure that lungs working harder impacts your blood pressure. High blood pressure can cause breathlessness. By the time you're measuring your O2 saturation, the lungs have already done their work...

Mark,You posted an expected cycle time of 90 mins for 30 miles the other day.
That’s an average 20mph..which is very good. Also you’ve played football..
I doubt you are struggling with lung capacity. You don’t get those figures just with big legs..
You have zwift don’t you.
You must be able to do vo2 max test on it, which will give you a clear indication.
Even better, do a Functional Threshold power test, then you can measure your cycling improvement.

I've not done the VO2 Max test yet. Perhaps I should give it a go this afternoon.
My FTP is currently 263. Just don't like climbing! Gravity is my enemy!

Pmsl....263....there’s f@#k all wrong with your lungs....
Me neither, gravity and body weight, I was losing a little and getting up and over progressively harder hills until lockdown, since then I’ve ate and drank too much and been lazy....and back playing up as I’ve not been able to continue treatment at chiropractor.
Getting back into now.........slowly

20mph is good but average speed on a bike tells you nothing unless you look at the how much climbing there is on the ride. I look at feet climbed per mile cycled and try and target 50+ but often miss as I don't like hills too much!

I normally manage around 15-16mph with hills.

Lockdown over?
Noticed the last couple of days more traffic on the roads
Council working again on roads
Privateers working again - felling, pruning trees etc, builders lorries about carrying timber and ladders and ancillary stuff.
Have I missed an announcement?

Do you have a link to the purchasing bit?

I spent 3 months in hospital as a child with severe bronchitis (thats what my parents said it was, although it seems a long time for a chest infection) and I'm convinced my lungs have never worked to what (I think, but then I'm no doctor) their full capacity should be.

Would be a useful bit of kit to have, especially with the amount of cycling I'm doing now.

It was this one:
https://www.win-health.com/pulse-oximeters-beurer.html

Not showing a price at the moment. I paid £96.00 inc. VAT & Del. It has shipped apparently but I haven't received it yet as just on a free no rush delivery.

I wondered how long the public would put up with it ,it seems 4 weeks

People aren't seeing coughing and spluttering anywhere , for the most part nobody they know has died so they'll start going out more, the carriers will spread it , deaths will increase and we'll end up like France ,Italy and Spain, not allowed out at all.

I assume the scientists have predicted when the public will start to disobey the rules and have a plan

I Guess it’s a fine balance between trying to let the economy begin to pick up and trusting people to do the right thing. Let’s face it, all those people can’t be going to b n q for essential journeys, but if they distance correctly and do the right drills. Is it a bad thing.
problem is you can’t say to the population. You’re all gated because of the 10 people having a party in the park. They used to do it to us in the military all the time. Punish the many for the crimes of a few.
I remember standing on the parade square for about 4 hours once as someone on a Thursday night had burgled the cookhouse. We all had to stand there until
Someone came forward or someone grassed. After 4 hours the pt started. Bearing in mind when a unit of 800 probably has 50% of personnel living off camp.
Think it was something like 6 hours in total then they just let us go home. Never found out who it was but morale was lower than a moles wine cellar.

Well f my old boots.
Just when you think the stupidest of the stupid cannot possibly come out with anything more stupid, the stupid fecker does exactly that.

Why do we give the Us of A any time whatsoever?

Gotta be a couple of hundred Americans gonna try it tonight I suspect.
