It’s not the government’s responsibility, it’s the management of the NHS that is responsible. All Health Trusts/Boards have comprehensive risk registers and are part of regional/national planning/procurement groups. It’s too easy to blame the government for everything when hugely bureaucratic organisations should carry the can and have planned/reacted better. Massively regrettable and the government now needs to step in and assist but the ‘pass it to the top’ blame culture has to go.
I think that is exactly what I said ;)

Cheque books at the ready:

This spectacular Speedster is set to be auctioned in a special one-week, online-only auction to benefit United Way Worldwide’s COVID-19 Community Response and Recovery Fund. The auction’s consigner is none other than Porsche Cars North America, supported by RM Sotheby’s. This is an opportunity to give back to those in need, while at the same time bidding on a money-can’t-buy package that would appeal to any Porsche enthusiast.

Well I am now properly worried.
My daughter who is a nurse and recently tested negative for COVID-19 starts on a new mental health ward on Tuesday, THEY HAVE THREE COVID-19 PATIENTS ALREADY !!
On a positive note they don’t seem to have a shortage of PPE and she has been fitted for the correct airtight mask and visor. To wear when carrying out certain procedures or when the patients spit (it’s a mental health ward).
I am sure others on here have family in the NHS in similar position and I feel for you, not sure how much sleep we will get over the coming weeks.
Massive claps on Thursday please !!

I know for a fact the NHS developed a strategy specifically to deal with a pandemic like this at least 10 years ago that covered all these kind of supply risks. What happened to it?
