I just read on facebook somebody took their car to get it detailed and picked it up today , never thought I'd say this, the police need to stop people and fine them starting now

A post last week on another forum before the lockdown made me think about what the NHS workers are doing for us

Mrs tested negative last week so she was back to work onMonday. She works in fractures and they have at least four on the ward who are suspected covid. The problem is they have been admitted for other things, either brought the virus with them unknown or have caught it in the hospital.

By the time it becomes apparent they have potentially passed it on to god knows how many staff and patients as they've been in an open ward for a few days.

They are put straight into quarantine but it's probably too late at that point.

The kids and I are only using the side and rear doors of the house. The front door and front hall are off limits. When my wife comes home from work, I put the kids and dog in the back room and shut the door. Wifey enters the front door and is sealed in the hall. I have left her a hot basin of water so she can wash her hands. She takes her clothes off and straight into a bin bag to be washed separately from our clothes. Wearing a towel she goes straight to the downstairs bathroom, which is now off limits to the rest of us. After showering she then cleans everything she has touched since entering the house before washing her hands a second time.

We sit down to watch TV as a family, all curled up on the sofa......apart from the wife who has to sit in another chair in the corner of the room. The kids wave goodnight from the other side of the room, and go to bed without a hug or a kiss from mum. And then she goes to bed in a separate room.

All her leave is cancelled and she's working 12 hour days. She comes home mentally exhausted and her ward isn't quite on the frontline yet, all respiratory admissions are being sent to another hospital. They are sending people home from hospital who aren't ready to be discharged because it's safer for them at home. People who should be on a ward being observed after major surgery for example.

They have all been warned they may have to decide who lives or dies based on some very scary criteria. If you have a known underlying issue no matter how mild you might not get a ventilator because the young healthy chap admitted at the same time has a better chance of survival. In Italy they stopped intubating anyone over 60.

I'm not normally so blunt but if you aren't taking this seriously, then go **** yourself. People like my wife are literally dying to try and put a lid on this.

Stupid O clock club again , seems I've been elevated to the heirachy , apparently all the fkin sheep are also in lockdown , interesting browsing thank god for the net , just to add to the general melee of confusion ,it's reported that China mobile phone use in the last 4 months has been reduced by up to 21, million users accounts being dormant , part of which the reason could be economic , no work no money no airtime purchasing , various reports videos etc re Wuhan rioting and more confusion regarding reporting of new cases , people who have had it and are getting it again are not being regarded as new cases eeeek , The missus speaks fluent Mandarin due to the fact she worked in Guanzhou for 11 years, has been listening to recordings of conversations with morgue statistics and cremation figures ( morbid I know ) but a pretty good indicator if accurate , all very perturbing at this hour , God bless our front line Angels and let's hope their mental health keeps strong

Ireland lockdown from midnight, we are not allowed to move more than 2Kms from our home for anything other than food, medical or essential services
We have nearly done our first two weeks in France and just about to start our next two.
Thankfully me and Ms French get on well.
I wish we were in our own house and I had a Car to play with that's for sure.
Stay Safe.

I would claim "Force Majeure'..this is a global pandemic of monumental proportions so no contract would ever stand up in a court of law.

Thanks for the support and as D Walker has said my military mindset does ‘put the job or mission first’ we had a plan and a target and will strive to achieve it by adapting to the situation as it occurs. Never losing momentum. Enthusiasm and drive are infectious, people follow it without actually realising.

Maybe I am painting a bad picture of my employers, I don’t think they have acted morally correct, but I can also see their side, are they concerned for the future - you bet they are - as a company they have shown respect and appreciation for their employees many times, even a thank you email from the CEO goes a long way, he makes it his business to know a little bit about each individual who works for him. These are unprecedented times, there is no end clearly definable, I have spoken to a few business owners (our sub contractors) all they want in the end is a business - if they do that the rest of us, The Enlisted Filth, will all have a job and we will all survive, life will carry on.

Probably the most depressing thing I've ever read...
Never had any faith in our state, our government, our NHS. That's not changing any time soon

I'm not suggesting, I'm stating what's on Chinese media ,about the way the Chinese are collating and reporting there figures on Wuhan province, they are not including people who have caught it a 2nd time

I completely understand and having spent 31 years of my career supporting a number of military Customers, especially UKMoD
(RAF) I get the moral driver to do the right thing for everyone involved, irrespective. But I just wanted to point out that no one could use the law to force you under the current circumstances. I wish you and your teams all the very best during extremely challenging times.

Somebody worked out if he paid his 8500 staff for 8 weeks @ £500 a week it's £34m , he's worth £4Bn , it's outrageous there are people in the world with ridiculous wealth like that .
It's even worse....my nephew worked for them before being layed off 2 weeks ago and while he was on a trip to the US someone on his crew was so worried about being made redundant that they took their own life. Desperately desperately sad.....

Years of cuts haven't helped.
I was married to a senior staff nurse for 24 years and no not all its cracked up to be but it's the Staff of the NHS that keeps it going Politicians just bleed it dry.
Maybe after all this they will look at it differently.

Seeing the medical staff from Italy and Spain in simple paper medical masks, that are completely inadequate for any infection control, let alone this Virus breaks my heart.
Yep. 46 doctors dead now in Italy and many nurses. They are better resourced than the UK per capita and 2x number of ITU beds. They aren’t showing the pictures in London at the moment. But they will come out in time I am sure of it. Did you see the nurses in bin bags recently?

Chaps just had an update on industry efforts to build much needed respirators. Despite all that we read in the press that Dyson will build 10000 respirators, they will need to be "clinically approved" which could take time to do. Time that we dont have so an industrial consortium has been set up to mass produce respirators to an existing design which is already qualified and can go straight into operation. Here is the extract of the update I recieved yesterday for you all.
