Another of the UK cars appears over here and it makes some bold claims!!

Whilst I'm no expert, I wasn't aware that the factory made any special flared bodies for the 4200 so is this just someone trying his best to talk it up or was there a specific model as per the advert "RARE Coupe GT , Red , Creme V8 , 6 spd. MOST sort after combination with only few made. Europe delivery only...."

Thoughts??

Thanks for the swift reply and I suspected it was a wrong 'un - and it occurs to me if he's being dishonest about the description what else is he being dishonest about?? No pics loaded as yet which is also unusual so we'll see how this one unfolds....

Not aware of this option. GT Red is not a Maserati colour either.

Nothing special by the looks of it. Went to auction in 2010.

I might reply to this guy and ask a few questions, just for some 'sport' to see what his answers are!! If he replies I shall keep you all informed. I would suspect he is relying on so very few of them being over here so the knowledge base being restricted and is trying to baffle with BS to inflate his price on the car. Clearly he is not aware of the might of SM!!

Well this is his reply to my question on it's uniqueness and it's flared body etc...

"Yeah this is a genuine Coupe GT ,Not brought here UK only, All for sale here are just Cambo’s which are 4200 GT Coupe titled. These have 40 more HP, & stiffer suspension & more .Was first on road in 2004- D.o.m was 11.th month 2003 “good ol car sales strikes again.”sorry about that .
Its weird you see other s on there that are 2004 with Vins 600-700 earlier. I bought it off Nicalos Raimo in Stock port who is very versed in Maserati’S I will send corresspondance from him"
No comment on the flared body or why it's unique and the 40 more HP is clearly not true or the suspension claim so no idea what he's on about and neither, I would suggest, does he!! Also he is asking a ton of money for it - some 05/06 model GS's are available for only a couple ofbucks more so he's dreaming!

It looks like a standard 4200 GT coupe to me. I think the rear carpets look black because they are in shadow; the fronts look black in shadow too but bright red in direct sunlight. Just ask him to prove it has an extra 40bhp and stiffer suspension. He won't be able to because it hasn't got either and ask him about tyre sizes. I reckon they will be the same as standard.

Does smell decidedly of bull****,but for the sake of balance it might have stiffened ARB and might have have been mapped, though somehow I doubt it.

Well I've sent him another email, as I say, just for sport's sake really but it does annoy me when people try to take advantage of others and it seems to me he's trying to pass this already-great vehicle off as something it isn't and I don't like that at all. We shall see what he says upon his reply and then, once we prove he's making tons of stuff up, I'll put it to bed.
