Anti Roll Bar linkage worn

Hi All

Looking for advice, I got an advisory on the MOT saying the Anti-roll bar linkage pin or bush is worn Offside front. Where is the best place to get a replacement? and what other parts should I get done at the same time? I would change both sides. Are there aftermarket better bushes available? I have noticed a "clonk" when slow speed steering.

Cheers

I suppose it depends which part is worn, there are either the bushes in the mounting that holds the bar to the body, or the drop links that link the bar to the control arm. Both are pretty cheap and available from the usual suspects, Eurocarparts, Scuderia and the like. There are some alternatives on the alternative parts thread for the drop links I think.

Replaced the drop links and bushes between the bar and body on both sides of my 2008 QP earlier this year.. Completely de-clonked the car. It was always a delight to drive, but is now a clonk-free delight and my state of mind/driving anxiety transformed. Money well spent. I wish you the same success and transformed state of mind behind the wheel.

Stuart, it's the "drop link" that's worn. I've been through several of these. It's a short link rod between the end of the anti-roll bar and the lower wishbone with a (presumably plasticine) ball joint at either end, with the ball joint area itself shrouded in a (similarly weak) rubber boot. Part number 386600139, expensive for what it is but relatively easy to replace (no need to remove suspension or even the ARB), don't bother with just one, changing one for new will simply make the other wear out quicker as being even a little worn it will try and absorb the load.

Thanks for this yes I will replace both. Ive been planning on changing out my tyres as well. Expensive month. I'll wait until I get discount for tyres. But it looks lije around £650 for 4 Michelin Pilot Sports which seem to be the best option at the moment.

I had to change all 4 of my tyres last month and went for Goodyear F1 Asy 5. 4 fully fitted for under £500 with an offer at ATS euromaster. They get just as good reviews on various forums as the Michelin PS4 tyre. The PS4S isn't available for the rears or I might have gone for them.

You are lucky. Two months ago when I had to order mine, it was unavailable and price would have been much higher. I ordered a Polish product in decent quality instead.
Nevertheless it seems that always the lower part of this rod breakes which could be exchanged if just I would find a part that fits.

Well it turns out Eurospares say this part is not available ... So quite why I can order it and pay for it from their website when they dont have it is a bit annoying.

Where did you order your "polish part " from please :)

Last time I replaced mine (and I think they now need doing again) I got them from Superformance.

They should have marked it as unavailable after I bought it too.
Seems Ebersold has 1 left.

Both the Goodyears and Michelins are well -regarded.

Also, for winter, I love Pirrelli Sottozeros on my QPV.
