Hi,

I've done the odd browse and post but never really done a proper intro. I've been a bit busy over the past 12 months spending a mass of time and money restoring an Alfa spider, then driving it to various events.
I have noticed that i still have my 4200 manual in the driveway so time to get it up and around again. My work pattern is changing so i will be driving it a bit more this year and hope to get down to Ace. There are a few outstanding jobs on the car but it's still only done 32k from new. I'll get round to them soon as I've just pulled the engine out of the spider again as it wasn't making enough power....that's the problem with driving a Maserati - nothing else is quick enough !

Regards

Leo

Hi Leo , great to hear from you again, fully understand where your coming from re the lack of power in other lesser vehicles , almost as if you need that rush and grin on a permanent basis , greta to hear you might have a bit more time this year be good to meet up at long last

Very nearly met Leo in Italy Oct 2009 , brave bugger was driving a 3 legged Italian donkey , with what looked like a 50cc engine all the way back to the UK , unfortunately our timings missed otherwise i would have had some superb pics of it struggling across the alps

Thanks everyone,

Yes Loz I still have the 3 Wheeler as a reminder of just how stupid I can be. Last summer I did the same trip in the spider and it was much more enjoyable.

Conaero - I do still have the 348 - it gets the heated garage. If they were girls the 4200 is the sophisticated lady you would take to functions and the 348 is a bit of a dirty high maintence girl that you have a great time with wouldn't dare to bring to meet your mum!

Yep Italian background so I suppose its part of my DNA. I will add technical bits etc as we go along and as soon as I've got the spider engine back together.

Welcome Leo,

I like the analagies to women; clearly a considered response... I keep getting drawn to Italian cars but this is my first exotic one!

You clearly like getting into the oily bits and I/we look forward to some tails on here of your experiences.

Welcome. I have a manual 4200 GT too. Not wanting to start any gearbox arguments but nice to hear from another owner of a three pedal 4200.

Hi Leo and welcome. Would be great to hear more of the work you're doing on the Spider? Hope you find the forum informative and find time to contribute along the way. With regards, Miles.

Hi Leo

Didn't we meet at the MF wet handling day at rockingham last year?
Look forward to catching up again at another event soon.
