I got a text from Dem earlier and it has prompted me to share an update about my dad, as most of you know he was diagnosed with inoperable liver cancer last summer. At the time they gave him little hope, not a lot of options and about 6-8 weeks as an outlook.
They did however offer a single round of chemo to buy him some time and comfort. He did however respond exceptioanally well to this and it lead to two further rounds leading up to Christmas. In fact they shrank the liver tumour by 20% and the secondary's in his stomach, lungs and bladder had disappeared altogether.
Well he had a full cat scan a couple of weeks ago and got the results this week and the tumour has not re-grown at all and still no secondaries to be seen, they are going to resume the chemo again but not now until May. So all very, very great news and the 6-8 weeks are looking closer to a year and an unexpected one at that. I'm making the most of this precious time with frequent visits and am so happy for him too. We didn't expect him to see his birthday in October and even less my mother's 80th last month.
I would like also to thank all of you guys (and girls) for supporting me last year too.
