Amari 3200

Hi Alan,

Those guys at Amari don't appear to know much about the 3200 when they quote rubbish like this..

"its easy to see Ferrari's influence in there"
"From the aggressive nose, to the LED boomerang style rear lights, it just shouts "Italian style" to everyone."

The 3200 was designed by Giugiaro before Ferrari took over production at Maserati in 1997, so naturally it has Italian style!

Using a version of the V8 found in the Ferrari 355, now 3.2 litres and with a set of twin turbos attached to it"

The 3200 engine is descended from the Biturbo and was the last Maserati designed V8, Ferrari had nothning to do with it!

If Amari don't know the basics of a 3200, I would be concerned about everything else too.

Send you friend to Richard Grace and put him on the trail of a good 3200, it will be worth the wait.

Cheers

Ross

I know he wants black but Dickies car is the better buy on paper and I'm sure it will be in the flesh..........a 2001 is always a better bet and it's the same money......The black car does look great in the pictures and if he has to have black just need to get it looked over by a specialist....

Thanks for the notes guys. As Ross knows, I supplied his car, it's never easy to find what you're after. Finding a blue or black car won't be easy, let alone with a light interior. There are some about but when you narrow it down to cars with a good history, good nick, preferred gearbox, mileage, it can take an age to find the right car. My car may not be for him, but I'd say to buy a late, full history car, but by far the most important factor is current condition.

We'll I wish I had known of this increased desirability when I sold mine......

Black or Nettuno blu 3200's seem to be the most sought after in my limited experience. Also, from the many Maseratis I sold before I was a business, you need to give it away to sell it privately. People are too scared off because of all the doom mongerers and horror stories.

The black one looks good in the pictures , but been photoshopped! Went to see it and looks nothing like that in real.

I noticed that they 'enhance' their photos when I was looking for my GTS.I also read some interesting stuff about Mr (Sheik) Amari.

You did the right thing. Do your research and then form an opinion, which is what you should do with any such company.

Alot of dealers have started to 'enhance' the pics of the cars they sell.......Deep shine always drags some punters in....
