I’m guessing if I have the normal manual dipping lever on the interior rear view mirror it’s not got the chromatic option for all mirrors

My first 4200 had this issue and I put up with it for years... only to find out when putting it up for sale that it was just a loose screw under the main mirror shell.

I don’t think that’s the case here, but maybe I’ll remove the cover and take a look!

My wing mirror mount on my facelift qpv has oxidised and the black paint is flaking off. Does anyone know if there is an alternative part as I can’t seem to find them available anywhere. Maybe I am being silly though and someone can find one.

I believe they are bespoke... you can get them refinished by a decent body shop... I did on my 4200 and GS.

Thanks for that Safrane. Maybe mine has a screw loose too. I'll check.
And even if it hasn't, I'll get on and paint it where its flaking. Seems to be a common issue on these and some Astons.

Actually, if it's the face lift isn't the wing mirror mount plastic rather than alloy and a different shape to the "classic" wing mirror?

Maybe it is… I haven’t really examined it, I just presumed it was oxidising as there were bubbles in places that made it look like rust.

Anyone knows if there are alternative parts for 2011 4.7 S Auto pulleys and tensioner:

1) Tightening pulley 226205
2) Maserati Belt Tensioner M-224178
3) Maserati Belt Tensioner Pulley With BM 172537

I trust that for the last one - 172537 -Alfa 1.9JTD has same one i.e.: SKF: VKM 32006 or GATES: T36006

Anyone knows if there is an alternative for 1 and 2?

I am going to change the rear shoes, discs and pads. I am sourcing the shoes and discs from ECP and will get the pads from EBC. Any recommendation on which EBC pads to get for daily use - red/orange/green stuff?

When it comes to rear discs, if you aren’t looking for ultimate performance, the Eurospares (I assume you didn’t mean Euro Car Parts) discs are good value as pattern parts.

The handbrake shoes are available from places like Autodoc for much less than Eurospares if you can wait. Have a go with the search box and you’ll save a few quid.

As for EBC pads, the chap who makes the SM upgrade brakes will not supply EBC pads as they have seen issues with them. For every day use Ferodo FDB1512 would be the ones.

I've been on AutoDoc. Will these do the job?
- A.B.S. 9334, otherwise RIDEX 70B0394 (https://www.autodoc.co.uk/car-parts/handbrake-shoes-10134/maserati/quattroporte/quattroporte-v/17882-4-2?categories[]=1419). It's not clear to me if there is 1 or 2 in a set. I assume I would need to order two sets for the rears?

- Will order the Ferodo FDB1512 pads. Same as above, is this for a set or do I need to order two?
