Havnt seen one yet, so thought id start a coffee thread. I really enjoy the process of making a decent espresso, and it is very satisfying when it tastes great.
Show us your machines, grinders and modifications, and what your drinking and favourites.

Just finishing stripping and modifying a Gaggia Classic with PID, 9bar pressure, upgraded shower screen, wand and new gaskets. Had alot of hand holding through the process by a certain someone on here, but its close to being finished now.

i managed to negotiate a Eureka Mignon grinder which has been a game changer for taste and flavour. Currently on York Cafe Soul of the Machine beans after visiting their Birmingham Cafe last year and loving the flavour. Union Revelation is also another firm favourite

la pavoni domus bar which is adjusted to 7.5 bar. tried lots of coffee, cheap and expensive but we have settled on a 50/50 mix of Lidl italian and costa mocha italian ground to setting 3. Also only use HMA filtered water............sad i know :(

Londinium L1 Lever Espresso machine and Weber HG-1 manual grinder (both now no longer made).

Coffee is Rave Swiss Water method decaf - decaf on doctor's orders, unfortunately, and this is the best decaf roast I have found - particularly price/performance wise.

Mine looks a lot like Daryl’s, but without the fancy wrap. The PID upgrade and pressure adjustment really made a difference, as did the perfect crema basket.

Oh and can I recommend one of the finest shops anywhere in the world (IMNSHO) Does mail order but if you get a chance to go in, I cannot recommend it highly enough

I buy a kilo of beans every month. It's bliss

Rather apt this should come up now , when we eventually deploy we will be mining about 1 mile from an old coffee/tea/tobacco plantation renowned for it coffee , said the be the best in east Africa and superior to any Ethiopian/Kenyan coffee , part of our community projects funding will initially be focussed on restarting the plantation which was abandoned in 2016 when the war restarted after a supposed coup attempt , this area was subject to a genocidal scorched earth policy resulting in 2 million refugees fleeing to the IDP camps in Uganda and Congo . We aim initially to supply 2000 seedling plants and employ around 50 women to plant them and nurture them ,
this is what we are taking over , the previous company wont return , the mountain you will see in the picture is Lujulo mountain , thats my licence area so these people have a special place in my heart .........................down the line you guys want the best coffee i'll be happy to supply you to support these people and get them back up and running their very own cooperative projects ....................any ex retired teachers out there that fancy to do a stint at the local school we are restarting ............change some people lives come and do it
