I need to try harder.

I have reset my trip several times after spirited drives to Abersoch in North Wales, with mixed driving.
Fast dual carriageway, A road blasting and overtaking and a bit of town stuff and I consistantly get 19.45mpg!!!

Last week a 360 mile round trip across to Stamford in Lincs I got 21.45mpg...is something up with my car or just my right foot ;-)

I won't tell you what I got when I sat at 70 on the motorway to go to AutoItalia last year ;-)

What was it??

Lee,
That sounds brilliant, keep it up, it's a point that can be made when we do our marketing campaign on the 3200 and the AC. I bet that later figure was close to 25mpg??

Robert your bang on....I did in fact get 25mpg and I was hovering around 75 to 80 at most times (on private sections of road during the journey of course ;-)...)

Just let the car waft along, without lighting up the turbo's and I was amazed with the returns.

I know I did not buy it for it's economy, but I was genuinly gob smacked by the figures.

As I said, I zero the trip regularly and I tend not to hang about but always return 21.5mpg

That the advantage of small engines!

You need the bigger engine anyway Benny to cope with all that body flex ;-)

Bit like a hard tail mountain bike and full suspension mountain bike.

Hard tail needs less effort from your pedal stroke to propel forwards, where as you lose power through the drive train and sag with a full suspension bike.

I like to think of the 3200 as the hard tail and your drop top as the full suss ;-)

Just a thought

You are a very funny man Benny ;-)

Hope your well.

How is the thunderous 4200 going?

Thunderous! It's even louder than when you last heard it around the Evo triangle. I hope you are well too. Regards.

The most likely reason the 3200 is the hard tail is because your dampers are seized. Just another on a long list of maladies! :D

Any increase in performance, or is that just for the noise? I am told on some cars the cat replacement has no usefull purpose, what do you think? I have been thinking on this for my 4200 and am undecided what to do, apart from maybe new rear boxes to start, what do you think??

OH and the 3200 saga, we know you love them Benny.

The larini site says an improvement.......but who really knows......bit like the reprofiling of the power output.....makes a difference?!

But yes....lots and lots....of noise.....:)

Frank, I know yours is loud, I have heard it...!!! What have you got fitted to yours, I can't remember what you told me now? Some have said the rear boxes from Marios are good, but users are better people to ask at the end of the day I think??

Yes, Autoshield straight pipes.....have a H pipe larini, which makes no real difference other than 1/2 the weight, same as loosing back boxes....

There is a drone at certain rev ranges......usually cruising speeds but I drop the window an inch to take edge off it.....glorious when reved up though.....:)

Will put up pics.....
