Cars well, been well looked after, running and sounding great. You probably made the right choice as it can be hard work in town at times, but I love it , and as I live fairly rural it's perfect.

That's not that bad a return Allan, sometimes you can get better on a distance cruise trip, but when the right foot kicks in then the car becomes a heavy drinker.

Dem, town driving is a killer in anything really, my Jeep hovers around 12 mpg for town driving, sometimes less, thirsty little monkey, but sounds lovely. We have an elephant sized carbon footprint???

Elephant sized footprint here also, much to No1 sons disgust. ML55 can return single figures in town!! usually averages around 14 tho :) The Maserati is our economical car!!! lol

Dem, I try not to do much town driving, so the rare occasion I do it's not for long. If I were stood in traffic for ages it would go down to 6 or 7. When I floor it and get the exhaust roar, I guess she is doing about 2mpg at that moment in time.
Allan, We all have our cross to bear mate, tell your son if he wants luxury motoring, it costs!!! Yes of course we all know that Masers are economical!!!!!

Cheers

Loved driving mine today....i had 1/4 petrol left and i never let it run lower than that so i put £40 in and just wanted to drive it till it ran out, which is not too far, loved it!
It reminded me why i have a maserati, people looking, pointing, the sound as i hit 5k is lovely, and after 35mins i came home with a smile, expensive hobby but i dont smoke or gamble.....

I need to try harder.

I have reset my trip several times after spirited drives to Abersoch in North Wales, with mixed driving.
Fast dual carriageway, A road blasting and overtaking and a bit of town stuff and I consistantly get 19.45mpg!!!

Last week a 360 mile round trip across to Stamford in Lincs I got 21.45mpg...is something up with my car or just my right foot ;-)

I won't tell you what I got when I sat at 70 on the motorway to go to AutoItalia last year ;-)
