No I know we had the Civic but not the CVCC version this had a strange combustion setup where fuel was ignited in a pre chamber before being sucked into the main cylinder pre ignited. This allowed for a much cleaner burn and more power and better emissions which was required for California strict smog rules.

Sounds an awful lot like Maserati’s new “world first” Netuno engine!!

Almost the same as the Nettuno engine, exce;t they've added more spark plugs?

Had 2 R11’s, 1.7 TXE Electronic which was a fabulous car and a later 1.4 GTL Boston that was not so much. Always wanted the turbo but was never brave enough to make the jump.

Brave enough...? Care to elaborate, for those of us who really only got the LeCar...oh, and the EnFuego

Renault were big into Turbos in the early 80s. Mate worked for a Renault dealer and on their test drive route was a hedge with a big hole in it which was where the Turbo cars went off the road. Normally caused by the turbo lag as the mechs learnt that to get the best drive out of corners they had to hit the throttle early anticipating the turbo lag, if you were too early the hole in the hedge was where you went as terminal understeer kicked in.
