Great times indeed when you could fix anything with basic tool kit consisting of a range of spanners, socket set, screwdrivers, feeler gauges, hammer or two and torque wrench.
Here at home my collection is nearly worth as much as the house with 4 sets of diagnostic gear.
My first a Sykes Pickavent bought in the late 90's and was Great with BMW's of that era.
Two Autel and my latest Launch X431 which is very good.

that reminds me, i saw an advert yesterday on tv for james martin's new programme where he'll be travelling round in keith floyd's old 2cv
