4200 speedo not working

Has anyone got a "picture guide" on how to reach the PCB that the speedometer/odometer fits to.

I have managed to remove the cluster and remove the nuts holding the speedo and rev but it seems tight if trying to remove them from the front.

Need to check the soldering on the pcb under the white plastic cover , that the red , black and yellow wires go into.

The speedo signal is fine but will not working on the dash.

Kind regards
Steve

It all routes back to the Bridge Cann Unit which is above the accelerator pedal, thats all I know I am afraid. The bridge cann unit does fail so worth investigating.

Speedo still not working with another bridge can

Okay , thanks for that with checkover the Bridge Can.

Anyone stripped down the cluster ??

Faults standing are no speedo , no trip data and NO ASR light up.

ABS shows no faults. Vehicle speed is shown if interrogating Engine ECU.

Replacement bridge can fitted and dash cluster tested ok but issue still remains.
Fuses and relays good.

Help......

They did a partial strip of the cluster on the 3200 episode of wheeler dealers. its was on discovery yesterday so should be on catch up or youtube.

They didn't remove the pcb as they say its pretty fragile but they did take the dials out from the front. The episode might give you some pointers.

4200 no Speedo Signal

Youtube link for the wheeler dealer 3200 binnacle removal below. start watching from 33.40 on the time bar.

Great thanks for that , binnacle has been tested and all works but ..................

Generic USB scantool and software from easyobdii.com via OBDII port.
All data good , vehicle speed , engine rpm , O2 sensor etc etc.

Does anyone have 3200 / 4200 electrical drawing that shows the bridge can module wiring , mostly relating to speedometer.

Thanks in advance

Is this similar on a 3200?
I've just changed rear shoes and after a brief run on the axle stands now have no speedo, a CEL, ABS light on and No ASR on
It's too bright in the cabin with all the warning lights!

The speed signal on 4200 / GS comes from the abs system, assume same on the 3200.

I would check the wiring to the abs sensors in case it was disturbed.

Don't know why cel would come up though!

I have a 4200 and would like to find the solution to this problem. The only difference is that the ABS light is off and checks out okay. I assumed the 4 wheel sensors are therefore okay ? I have no speedo , no ASR and no trip data on the Nav display. The odd thing is that the Engine ECU is seeing vehicle speed if checked using a scanner.
Is everyone sure that the speedo is from the ABS wheel sensors only ? The 4200 has a speed sensor on the final drive also ?
Could the 4 wheel sensors get computed in the ABS for the engine ECU vehicle speed and data for the ASR , then compared with a vehicle speed sensor that runs the speedo , trip and part of the ASR data ?

I would say you either have a Bridge Can Unit that is faulty or the diode has blown in the front loom. Have you attached jump leads or a starting pack to the car prior to the failure and have you blown any fuses of late?

Thanks for the info.

Bridge Can was swapped with fully operational one and no change , so Bridge Can ok.
No fuses blown recent , as for the Diode would that just cause these problems alone ?
