Off to the Escapade in Champagne in a couple of weeks. Suddenly thought about driving after dark on the wrong side of the road. What's the recommended approach for 4200's with Xenons with regard to beam deflectors?

TIA

Sorry, Chris. Ignore what I wrote below, that was hearsay from a colleague.

I checked again, and you have a legal requirement to not dazzle oncoming drivers, so will need to either adjust or use deflectors (or a bit of electrical tape!). Non of th edeflectors I've used so far have instrucctions for a 4200 so I just guessed for placement.

If you don't have deflectors, point your lights at a wall and stick some electrical tape or similar on until you think they won't dazzle people driving a standard car towards you.

IGNORE THIS BIT:

Don't need them for xenons as far as I remember.

Actually, not sure you need them at all

On the lights are two long etch marks...I run tape over these. Although it makes little difference at least the French police note it and I have nit been stopped once.

RSM just got it in before Benny!

If you pull up in front of a wall with Xenons you will see they have a flat cut off line so no need for converters at all.

Newton is correct to some degree...but can you explain that in French to the Police?

I too was always of the understanding that you don't need to do anything with xenons.

8 years of driving these cars in France I have not had any issues.

I like both Matt's and Robert's answers. Sticking with them :)

(and throwing some tape in the boot:D )

Cheers

Newton, is that the final answer?

C

Well it is my final answer yes... No problems on the continent with mine to date. I suppose if you get a money grabbing (never met one of those!) Frog fuzz, having a roll of black tape could placate them.
