hi, only now have i had a spare few minutes to remove the top of the dash & the speedo unit.

took it out for a drive, with me and a mate, and we have no idea where the **** its coming from, it is just infront of us, but no sign of where, i cannot see loose pipes or anything....!!!! really dont know what im meant to do now...

are there any boost or vacuum pipes which come into the cabin area somewhere? im quite sure it is a boost pipe, it gets louder the harder it boosts and it also smells of burning oil inside the car when you make it do the noise.

I have not found any suction or pressurized line comming to cabin area (in a Mercedes W114 Coupe there are vacumhoses in the inside to lock the seats when the engine is running) in tech manuals, but there are some lines comming form the intalke manifold to brakebooster or fuel vapour recovery. However as I remember you have these open air filters so in case you would have also the Kaiser valve than there would be an open end. By the way did you solve the 3200-loss-of-brake-servo-vacuum-at-high-revs issue meanwhile?. I could imagine that both issues are linked together

Could be a pinhole in a pipe somewhere, venting under pressure, but how you would pinpoint that...? Smell of oil may be getting dragged into the cabin, though that noise does sound like it is in the cabin. Sorry not much help.

I would disconnect the reachable hoses which end at a non-return valve one- by one - put it under pressure and see wheter it keeps the pressure and the non-return valves are still working. Also I would assume that there was a reason why Maserati introduced the Kaiservalve which probbaly cannot work properly with open air filters (especially under boost conditions). Also the Oil Vapour Recovery needs to be connected to the left Air Filter box (see here). So I see two items (beside holes in the tubes or non working valves) which needs verification how it is intended to work with open air filters..

And if it the engine-bay looks still like this I feel there is a clip missing on the right hose on the oil-vapour recovery box ..

that defo sounds lik air being pushed or sucked through a gap or a leaking hose to me. like when you stick your hand over the end of an air line and pull the trigger.

It sounds like the squirrel is upset when you step on it's tail. This may be due to it being tired and you need a new one.

But on a more serious note, I can't tell if that is mechanical or electrical from the video. Since it only comes on under acceleration, could it be a traction-related warning? Of course under boost, if there were a pipe for a boost gauge could that be leaking?

Hope you find it soon!
Cheers

My money is on it being boost pressure being lost somewhere. It's defo an air leak. Have you reattached the 4 small pipes and the vacuum hose to the inlet manifold properly? In suggest a rolling road session may be the only way to find it for sure, as there you will be able to recreate the boost with the car stationary.

Hi

Certainly worth reconnecting the original near side air cleaner and hose connection from the oil vapour tank to see if this cures the problem. On engine boosting the non return valve in the oil vapour hose should open with suction from the turbo's allowing oil vapours to be sucked back into the engine via the air filter. If he non return valve is not opened then it might just cause problems with the smaller Nrv ( 25 0n frawing posted by MUC3200) which is for discharging vapours under no boost conditions. I would also check all hose clips are tight on turbo hoses and then just work through a possible list of items one by one. It will probably end up being someithing really unexpected. PS DO NOT connect the Oil vapour hose without the nrt in the system or with the nrt reversed, I have heard of this pressurising the sump and blowing oil out through the dip stick.

Merry Xmas

2 boost/vacuum pipes go into the car on the nearside bulkhead, any ideas where they go to and what they do?

Beau

if you have the dash out check your heater matrix for leaks as its a known 3200 weak spot.

its all put back now.

but now i have a red light coming up on the dash, airbag warning light (odd because its never caused an issue before, always came on then went out)
