3200: constant beep from dash when under acceleration

Slightly off topic, but is there a list of what all these beeps/buzzes mean. Mine beeps three series of beeps three times on switch off. Only warning buzzer I've heard is when ambient below 2C.
Assume the series of beeps are some sort of code for something but can't find out what.

Has your car ever had a Tracker device fitted?

same beep lots of cars have, mine doesnt do it though, i think its just sort of a beep to let you know the immobiler is activated, that beep is not made by the same buzzer as the one when you turn the ignition on.

so does anyone know where the standard buzzer is located?

To be honest it seems like nothing came "standard" from the factory. Mine is a 2000 and has no buzzer at all. Only has the beeps for seatbelt.

@alandwf, do you have a pioneer head unit by chance? sounds like the beep to remind you to remove the fascia

I don't know where the buzzer is but there should be an electrical connector on the seat belt base which activates when there is weight on the seat but the seat belt is not closed. Try disconnecting that wire and see if it makes a difference.

Looking at the manual, it seems like the only conditions that set off the factory buzzer are... Seatbelt not fastened at key on. Automatic gearbox not in park at key off, speed over 120 kmh (Arab countries only) and keys left in ignition on door opening.

Hope this helps...

ok, this buzzer/beep has nothing to do with the seat belt, i undone my seat belt while it was doing it and it done a seperate beep for the belt, so this is seperate,

i have found that it does the beep under high engine load, the higher the gear, the lower the revs the beep comes in, 1st gear the beep starts at 4000rpm, 2nd 3000rpm, 3rd 2500 rpm, 6th 1800rpm

this suggests the gauge cluster is at fault. I'm guessing here now, but those revs sound proportional to the gear ratios, so again, I'm guessing here... the speedo gets its signal via revs and then converts it to speed dependent on what gear it is in.

It also sounds too 'mechanical' to be an electronically controlled buzzer.

Hope you get to the root of the problem soon mate. I'd still be tempted to disconnect the gauge cluster and see if that eliminates the noise.

Still think its the speedo as JDM seems to be implying.

I had a failed one on my Opel and it sounded like an electrical buzzer.

Take the dash top off and when it starts pull the plug to the instrument cluster (or try one disconnected at a time)

One final thing to consider, does the sound get higher/faster, the faster you go and I am sure you have worked out, the speedo is electronically controlled, there is no speedo cable, but is still has a rotary motor inside the unit.

right, further investigation! i now believe the noise is not from a buzzer like i first thought, if i accelerate with half throttle i get a 'low tone' beeping noise, if during this, i apply full throttle, the beep turns into a 'high tone' beeping noise, so it deffinatly seems mechanically and or electronically operated beep.

Could it be linked to water presser, or air/vacume pressure, I know you have replaced some pipes recently?

the noise sounds like its just behind the speedo cluster, i have done loads to engine etc but it seems to come from the dash not engine bay.

Off topic - but that explains why all the locally sourced (Land Rover dealer - Kuwait) Discovery's had a beep when driven by squaddies trying to break the land speed record driving from Basra to Kuwait along that desert road.
