Agree on the black leather piece....Didn't feel as nice inside. We went for the beige colour....

Well done mate .... I think you have made the right decision for the price range....very stylish car rather than the boring Audi.......You'll have to let me know your thoughts as will get one for Liz at some stage I'm sure...Although her tastes have moved up a ladder and wants a Macan now....Not before I have a GT S I said.

Agreed mate. I didn't even physically look at the Macan Although in my mind that was the only current SUV that potential looked and drove as well.
Too pricey for me at the moment to warrant as a second car. you definitely need a GTS before she even thinks about a macan!
Will let you know how the evoque experience goes, for some reason I have been obsessing over getting one recently. Initially it was just to be a basic run around and then spiralled into one with all the options. Probably due to the fact that they hold their value so ridiculously well - there wasnt too much between ones that had done 140,000 miles with low spec, to a top of the range low mileage one of the same age.
One went on eBay for 22,999 with 148,000 miles. With 30 odd bids. I just dont get it

Yes they do hold their value and with star ship miles on....Still very popular no matter what some may think of them. What colour spec have you gone for?

Probably because they are within range of the masses!
I just don't get it, look pig awful and the 3 door is an education in styling disaster masterclass.

Good choice. We've done 14k miles in ours in the last 12 months, so it has very much become our "go to" car. The most any of our others cars have done in this period is 4K miles (my big Rangie). You'll love it.

Don't like the 2 door but the 4 door looks pretty good to me. Long way from pig ugly......

Agreed the 4 door is a nice car, just not big enough to pull our roadblocker so another RR or a Discovery for us next year

After an 8 hour round trip to London and back to drop off the Alfa and pick up the Evoque. It was certainly worth it.
To say it's pig ugly is certainly a personal view- and not one shared by the general automobile loving public.
I personally would never get a 3 door one as it just loses its practicability.

I also disagree it's available to the masses. New ones start at 45+ for a good spec, and around 25+ for used examples.
If you were in politics you would really have to take a crash course on the socio-economic demographics of the UK.
If you said it's good value for money, I would tend to agree. Volvo lovers may not however.

Personally I think they look stunning and with a few touches, really stand out in the class.
I went for for Gun Metal Grey Andy, with black leather and ivory contrast stitch, with the lux+ pack.
I really like the recaro style seats and pan sunroof.

The boot is fine for me, and is just about nippy enough around town and on motorways. Quite impressed with the dynamic mode along with ambient lighting especially at night. I looked at SUV options for 3 months and for me, this was a no brainer. I still don't understand why they sold it for such a good price from a main dealers with that spec and low miles. He said they bought it at auction for 300 less than I paid for it and they just wanted to sell within 30 days. I am naturally suspicious though.

It will never replace the GTS, but as a DD I am very happy with it. If it's good enough
For Ewan with his car collection - then it's certainly good enough
For me!

It's just me then, I just don't like them, and I think at 25k they are available to more than you think, I think a Kia suv starts at about 24 new, look how many of them that are around, in that case I can see why you would go got the RR,
And of course there are the lease deals where you could have one for 299,
Anyhow, enjoy the car, discussion and debate is always a good thing,
I just hope my wife doesn't ask for one as she is looking at cars to pull a road blocker!!!

That's the Kia brand new vs a 5 year old
RR. The masses worry about parts and maintenance too.
I think there is a big difference between availability of the two.
Easy to lease a Kia or similar. RR would have to be cash or HP.
Numbers would
Be different .

Agreed, just saying that some may choose the 5yr RR against the Kia if they are in anyway style conscious!!

299 lease for
An evoque gets you a PURE. Slow, look totally different and have no options.
Agree they are more similar to a KIA (still worlds apart imho) - but you aren't comparing like with like.
I did actually briefly consider leasing a Kia Sportage until I got a grip!

Totally agree Re: lively discourse. All opinions are valid

The Evoque; a triumph of form over function.

Depends on what functions the purchaser wants.
Agreed its the antithesis of the Volvo/ Ford etc which is certainly more biased towards function
Than Form.

It's probably way more practical than I actually need , but I , like many others
Have certinly been drawn in by its form.

New Kia would lose a shed load of money though surely where as the Evoque would only drop slowly now......

Iain, when Inhad an order in it was that grey as well......Yours sound well optioned up with those seats. Got a picture of her you could post.

Sure Andy, will do today. I dont think there are any options is doesn't have to my knowledge.

Agree totally re: price loss vs a Kia. I have seen not as well specced ones with triple the mileage going for there or there abouts. But we are all accustomed to depreciation driving Tridents I presume.

I am still scratching my head why there aren't more 4200's roaming the streets as they cost the same as a new Focus.
