It’s the bit of reddish coloured water in the middle. Hope that helpsView attachment 109004
that sounds likelyOil water pump O ring seal? Its tricky without actually being there.
Thanks that’s really helpful
that sounds likely
I had a flickering oil pressure needle a week or two ago too
The last couple of days I have had a PO116 code thrown up on the last two outings and the temp gauge doesn’t get above 1/4 way round the gauge so I guess it’s all the same problem

Is this a possible DIY repair or does it require specialist equipment?I would get that looked at and not start it. The shaft between the two pumps corrodes and then snaps leaving you with no oil pump.
Still got some coolant in the tankThe o ring isn’t going to cause that. Either you’ve lost all your coolant or the pump has snapped or you’ve got multiple faults all at the same time.
Don’t start it. Get it looked at properly

Is this a job for a garage or I’m fairly competent with spanner’s?You could in theory have a stuck thermostat and a dodgy oil pressure sender and a leaking o ring but that’s a lot of coincidences when a failed water pump shaft (which also drives the oil pump) explains it all.
After flickering a few times last week the oils pressure gauge Was reading great pressure since!! If the shaft broke surely I would loose all pressure? You could in theory have a stuck thermostat and a dodgy oil pressure sender and a leaking o ring but that’s a lot of coincidences when a failed water pump shaft (which also drives the oil pump) explains it all.
I think it's the gear teeth corroding on the shaft, causing slippage. After flickering a few times last week the oils pressure gauge Was reading great pressure since!! If the shaft broke surely I would loose all pressure?
