Well guys I have been lucky enough to have the new Ghibli for the last two days and all I can say is wow.
I know I am going to be biased but it has proved to be far better than I anticipated.
The diesel is not the fastest out there but it does sound sweet! Like an old burbling V8 Hemi! There is more than enough power to spin the wheels and to pull you well out of the corners, coupled with the zf box it is lovely to drive too. Auto mode does everything you would expect, but press the manual and sport buttons and it a real drive. Although the box selection does take a bit to get use to. I am more accustomed to a BMW or Mercedes gearbox, but i have to say once i got use to it it is great.
Suspension is firm but not hard, and it handles well, this one is running 20" wheels. Not able to really push it to its limits due to the weather but there are no complaints from me on that. Having jumped from the Ghibli straight into a 5 series sport i can say i prefer the ride on the Ghibli.
The car is so comfortable and easily to adjust the seating position. Plenty of room for 4 of us that ventured out in it last night.
The head unit is simply to use with its touchscreen technology, sounds great, but have yet to try the voice command option.
The steering wheel controls take some getting use to, maybe just because it is something different, and controlling the central display has proved tricky, but again I do need to just sit and play with the controls. Not easy to learn a new toy whilst driving and is this weather.
Any complaints??!!!!
Having changed the digital dash display to MPH, it also converts the heater controls from C to F. I need to investigate this again to see if they can be changed independently.
And my only other complaint is I am weekend off and had to give the car back!!!!!
