So what did the Sprint race show, there is little to be gained but a lot to lose, other than the initial sprint from the start were Max and Fernando made up some places it all remained pretty much as was. Checo and George both lost out big time though.

Good for the fans, 3 days of action but o only the real die hards go to everyday of racing anyway.

Overall great to try something new but will need more time to see if it develops into something worth doing long term

More exciting even condensed to under 5 minutes although half of it is replaying the same footage...

I thought it was quite exciting, Max made a great start, there were a few incidents (Sainz and Checo) and it added a bit of jeopardy. To me, the best Grand Prix are the ones where someone is out of position and has to drive back to a better one, we didn’t get that with Lewis or Max, but it could happen on one of them.

What it also showed is the weakness of the tyres, blistering on both softs and mediums when they are given proper stick with no need to make them last to a pit stop window. Hopefully they will fix that.

Ahem...I dont think we needed to wait to see the blistering mate.
We've seen two major crashes this year. High speed, out of contention, ife threatening, race destroying incidents that were total tyre failure..
Im sure Pirelli have their take on it but Ive seen the same thing in WSK, and have my own opinion too...!

If I recall correctly, it wasn’t blistering at Baku, but a failure in the sidewall connection to the belt, allegedly caused by low pressures, but regardless, more evidence always helps.

The FIA basically came out and said the tyre failures were due to cheating as the teams involved were running lower pressures than the allowed. They were getting round the checks by super heating the tyres in the blankets. They’re now no longer allowed to keep the blankets on over night.

Baku..( Verstappen) ?
Red Bull did say they were running spec pressures..
Failures will happen . I think Pirelli have work to do.

And back to my point about set up. CDrivers compalining about loading, brake set up, aerodynamic loading and tyres being the only options after an hour of prep..Of course it'll stress the tyres. Are they up to it ? (the tyres)

Instead of Reverse grid, how about putting the front runners in the 'slowest cars' Hamilton and Verstappen in Haas's and likewise Mick S and that russian paydriver in the mercs.... too much carnage?

Penalty for Hamilton in my book. What a shame to see it burnt to the ground inside half a lap...

Well that was an interesting first lap….Lewis had to fight as it would have been all over……Racing incident….Hard to saw either way but I am edging that way but we will see after they look at it.

Just watching them removing the car….Well watching the UK Marshall’s and recovery look at it for 20 minutes, maybe have a have a cup of tea then take another look, suck through their teeth a few times…. God Lord it would have been moved and tyre wall fixed and the race underway if it was anywhere else.

Both could have done more to stop the incident for me so I see it as more racing incident.

Makes me laugh that Red Bill are saying no one goes down the inside at that corner and it’s crazy so Lewis fault. Surely any corner is game as a racing driver….

That made me laugh Christian sounded mad when he phoned the FIA and said it was crazy….Toto very calm and sent them an email with a detailed diagram of the tyre position of the cars and the rules attached….So German…..Who knows what they will decide.
