Obviously aimed at today's youth as, given the average age of members here, our 'grans' would have been teenager's or twenty something during the war.

My Nana was born in 1900 and never learnt to drive.

However on the Kentish side there’s a gran born in the 1970s so it probably doesn’t apply to her either!

One gran was 1898, don’t know about the other but probably about 1910... Thwy were very different despite their families originating (mostly) from within a mile of Boreham (Essex).

Crickey - I don’t even have a photo of my grandfather, let alone his cars. Though he did pass away 15 years or so before I was born.

That said, when I was younger I do recall seeing a picture of their Jaguar XK120. My father tells me it was powder blue, with leopard skin interior. I’ll ask him what photos he still has.

A point of order if I may; the T-Shirt is blatantly wrong in that '1' and '2' are followed by full stops (or periods for the colonials). It therefore follows that each sentence should start with a capital letter.

I do hope the order has not been placed yet.

I would argue that the numbers 1 and 2 are capitalised.

I would argue that as a colonial, full stops are full stops and periods are something else altogether!
