Very nice. I shall have to put my thinking hat on to come up with a grovelling excuse to buy another watch....

Very much underrated the air king. I’d really like a Milgaus. Obviously because I work in highly magnetised areas!!!

Been wearing my old Tag today. Mrs C said 'If you see one you like, just get it' in reference to a discussion we were having about Longines Master Collection Retrogrades on auction.

Was meant to be my 50th in August, but I suspect I'm just going to be 49 for another year ;)

When you go to an auction, you look at the catalogue , decide which lots you're interested in , inspect them, set a bid and stick to it.

What you don't do , walk into the room just as the auctioneer is about to put the hammer down , "so no bids on the 1940s Omega" ,"hmm I can come to £20"

£20 , for an Omega, it must be absolutely battered but the hands are worth that, so, hand up , "your bid sir"

I go over to collect it, **** me

To add insult to injury it didn't work , I know a guy who fixes clocks and watches as a hobby , he's not interested in run of the mill stuff but anything unusual he sees as a challenge, says it relaxes him working on it , he had it 3 months but it came back working.

I have had the odd bargain, bought 3 replica watches, 2 TAG and a Breitling for £30

Only this one wasn't a replicaScreenshot_20200419-054708_Gallery.jpg

in that case get an AirKing, it has exactly the same movement as a Milgaus for about £1500 less.
An Airking (with an Explorer I early dial) is my daily frankenwatch. In my environment I trash watches regularly. That Airking is as bulletproof as a tank and waterproof as a submarine. Yes same mvmt as Milgaus, but without the magnetic shielding.

That's interesting indeed. I love the watch Tennant wore in Good Omens, but something like 140k....

My first thought but I think you would get use to it, tempted it's not silly money and would be a talking point

actually would love to see someones face when asking for the time and you simply show them your watch, that would be pure comedy there

The Franck Muller Crazy Hours effect.
The one you posted is rather more classy though.
I’ve been having dangerous thoughts about Tag Microtimers, but from what I’ve read they’re easy to damage and I’m a clumsy berk.

Well had to be done, lets see what it looks like when it arrives
