Thats what I reasoned, take away the automatic weapons, and if normal people require arms, make it a single shot.If the right to bear arms in written into the constitution then give them all flint lock / single shot rifles, a this was the gun available when it was written..
If I am being shot at by a toddler I demand the right to be able to return fire!I think I read somewhere that an American is 76% more likely to be shot by a toddler than killed by a terrorist. This, perhaps, is an indicator that there are too many guns in circulation!

Are you the British equivalent in your Truck Dan?Most of the Americans I've had this argument with drive F150 trucks. Their response is far from articulate, and normally consists of them calling anyone that opposes the gun culture, a retard.
These are the people that you'd need to convince to give up their guns. And if the government made it a law to give up their guns, they'd take that as the perfect cue to attempt a revolution.
...come to think of it, that might actually be the answer!
Dan. Dan, Dan, Dan. Dan, Dan, Dan! It’s not him.Are you the British equivalent in your Truck Dan?
And the NRA, a terrorist organisation.Money.
Well they shouldn't have elected an egotistical megalomaniac for president.I’ve had a few conversations with some very intelligent, articulate Americans about their gun laws, and it’s a complicated and baffling issue for people who aren’t American.
Their right to bear arms is built into the very fabric of their version of democracy. It is based on the idea that everyone should be able to defend themselves and stand up for what they believe is right. When you probe at this, and question who they believe they need to be able to defend themselves against, the most scary answer is that they don’t trust the government and they want to retain the ability to either mount a revolution, or protect themselves in the event of a revolution...
Well the civilised world has banned guns and we have crooks too but they don't go round massacring innocent people, students or children.Even if guns were banned, those crooks who really want one would find a way to get one.
There are always warning signs on social media. The platforms that earn billions should take some responsibility for monitoring it. And why don’t people report them more? I am hoping to go and shoot some guns in Vegas today - but it will all be at aOne of the common sayings is...."guns don't kill people - people kill people". This is ultimately true. However....there is no way that laws and procedures can detect and/or screen out all of the nut cases who may purchase a gun. Also....at the time of a gun purchase, maybe the individual is mentally responsible and in charge of their faculties, but this could change if they come under the influence of illegal substances, or fall under the spell of some radical political group, etc. Regarding our constitution, it is open to some interpretation. The right to bear arms originally applied to militias and similar organized activities, but this has been applied to individual citizens and is not likely to be changed. So I believe we will always have this problem. And when these horrible shootings occur, we will always regurgitate the same old arguments, and debate endlessly about it. Until all of the sane and responsible citizens are willing to give up their gun rights because of the very few individuals who cannot be trusted - this sad problem will go on. Even if guns were banned, those crooks who really want one would find a way to get one. Man kind is a fallen being...
It’s insane, other counties allow guns, for example Switzerland and I think Canada, but not the same level of killings. One of the common sayings is...."guns don't kill people - people kill people".
