Morning, up at 6:30 on my 1st day home, lie in and chill she said.
Weather looks shite, pick car up this afternoon.
In the meantime I’m told to research new televisions, as we need a new one because no1 daughter doesn’t have one in lounge in her flat.....I’ve given up trying to work out women’s logic......

Have a great day, all

Hello everyone!
A day of celebration today for me... firstly I'll be seeing my parents to celebrate their Ruby Anniversary that is technically tomorrow and then over to celebrate my godson's first anniversary of being alive. I've bought him squirty dinosaur bath toys.
I'm excited.
HapPea Saturday!

Well that didn’t go as expected, ended up spending the whole day on the camper, whilst Alex cracked on with the wiring of his leisure battery system and 230 hookup I entertained myself doing a 1/2 & 1/2 detail on the nose!

Inspires his lady who with instruction is doing the rest of the motor!

Got it on the lift and set sbout a service to discover:

2 x M12 rear engine mounts one bolt missing, the other sitting in with no thread! Both threads stripped

1 x M8 rear engine mount bolt missing and thread completely stripped

Collapsed internals on exhaust.

5 x loose bolts (out of 6) on drive shaft!

So basically a miricle the engine hasn’t dropped out as one ‘pin’ was all that was stopping it. And even more lucky not to have been launched by a flailling half shaft!

Helicoil kit ordered on Amazon Prime...

Morning,
Trip over to Leeds today, visit BIL, he had a heart attack a week ago Wednesday, operation on Friday and is home now, very lucky boy apparently, his valves are fooked, so, he has had his warning. Stressful job in banking is to blame I suspect...
Have a good day,
Dave

Glad to hear it, Phil. You certainly picked a lovely part of the word in which to set up camp.

So far today I've dumped a car load of shite at the dump, now having a coffee in the garden. The grass can have a cut later when the dew has dried off.

With the Vantage in to have a few creaks and groans deal with, I'm a bit lost without a car to wash. Mind you, the Fiat 500 could do with one. It'd come up lovely for some clay and a couple of coats of Autoglym HD. Or I could have another coffee.

Well the helicoil kit arrived and has been duly administered to two M12 and one M10 holes! What I have discovered is that they actually should (factory) be 2 x M10 and 1 x M8 so they have been drilled and tapped at least once previously, oddly the sub frame was only drilled for the M12 holes so after the resto it never had the third bolt anyway!

At least the engine won’t drop out now...
