Looks like shadow to me, cracks have tended to be in the raised part. Needs an on end view.

Agree with Robert unfortunately .........:(
though to be sure I would get another pic from a different angle and watch the light source angle, aiming for as close to 90' as possible

Sorry to bring up the bad news Robert, but you have 2 babies at last count :)
Think of it like removing an Elastoplast, the quicker you pull it off the less pain there is............

just noticed that - hope so as this side looks good :(

Darren, that's what happens to your car when you try and keep up with a Scaglietti around the EVO triangle!

Yep I smiled all way home. I have a list of things to do but that is to make it A1/concourse. Labour of love and in Emblem I have found a proper good trustworthy lot who will get all my business from now on. Martin and Myles really are top notch!

did they give you photos of all the work done? The work mine had in the past by Emblem is backed up with images of everything!

Yes pretty much so, they have a ftp site and have uploaded loads of stuff onto there. I have the arm here with me now, I also have a list as long as my arm with "things to do" which came out of the 3hr inspection. Cannot wait to start nailing them one by one and crossing them off. The 4 wheel alignment has done wonders and the cars drive so much better after the wastegate has been freed and is not stuck open.

FYI...
German Forum has a discussion going on about what started here.
Member "integrale" was so kind and wrote to Maserati Customer Care (Germany) and they responded very quickly. Here is the reply:

"After reviewing all technical documents of the model lines mentioned, we can exclude that the complaints described are known in Modena.
Also in the consultation with our colleagues in the UK, we could not detect any significant accumulation of failures of the front lower wishbone.
Rather, we assume that the vehicles involved were not maintained at official Maserati service partners. The replacement of the control arm or individual bushings without the proper special tool may result in possible damage to the wishbone and subsequently to the described damage.
Nevertheless, we forwarded your request along with the address of the website to Maserati SpA.
We appreciate your feedback and wish you a safe ride in your Maserati. "

To be honest I didn't expect Maserati's reply to be much different in the days we live in. There may well be a tiny potential ounce of truth to their ideas in the cases of some cars. However the fact still remains that the part has been replaced/improved/revised. Why would anyone do that if there was not a risk of failure to the original part if the car was always service/maintained by a main dealer. Tosh in my book.

Had the XJ serviced at a main dealer Grange before Xmas as wasn't sure if I would keep it as had full main dealer history to keep it neat. Ran out of washer fluid a few days later to find they had charged for topping up washer fluid but never done it. Opened bonnet to top up to find the cap open 180 degrees so some idiot forgot! What else did they forget?!

I think the same as most and use independents more than not. Main dealers across most brands or generally poor & Maserati don't seem to be any different. Seems very strange & contentious ground if Maserati want to take that approach & stance! Silly boys.
