Isn’t putting ‘conflict it creates’ a little confrontational? Disagreements are one thing. Conflict is a bit more excessive. I can’t recall any thread resulting in a conflict.

The dictionary definition of conflict is: an active disagreement between people with opposing opinions or principles.

We are happy with the wording.

As someone from the US, getting a perspective (no matter how skewed) of political and social events was a good thing.

However, the vitriol and acrimony displayed by some on here got old fast.

I learned quickly to keep some opinions to myself.

I would have thought that people with a common interest, the financial wherewithal to afford expensive cars, and the intelligence to buy them, would be a bit more civilized.

PS, sea urchin pate is difficult to palette.

That’s what we are attempting to ascertain, whether it is, or is not, broken in the opinion of all members. We will see next weekend.

Yeah, the problem is that we don't seem to be able to separate the useful perspectives and the angry responses, which seem to just get repeated ad infinitum. This is really about measuring the tolerance for it. I think the overall result will be interesting and helpful, so won't draw any conclusions in the interim.

Perhaps in those circumstances replies by individuals, who feel the need to argue their point, should be limited to one or two.

The challenge is where a thread that should be informative / interesting / not related to contentious and divisive topics becomes somehow hi-jacked by topics, opinions and so on which are, or might be considered to be, divisive, upsetting, bloody annoying etc.

I think the forum is great and felt very welcome when I was looking for information, and also when I bought my car recently. I've had the odd weird interaction with a member on here, but nothing that could not be managed.

As a member on here I look for good conversation, good deals for my car, and good meets to make new friends.


If anything like political issues arise in posts, then that's what mods are for to ensure common decency in the posts. This is not the USA, and I hope we take all political parties and MP's with a pinch of salt
