Some car investment advice

Another couple of ideas:

Porsche 944 S2 or turbo - on their way up, be quick!
BMW 635 CSi - beware of rust
BMW M Coupe - already rocketed, but I reckon they'll continue to rise

Annoyingly I've had the opportunity to buy a decent example of each of these over the past 3-4 years, but failed to take action.

944 Turbo certainly although they have moved quite a lot recently, normal 944s aren't rare enough and there are some real dogs out there unloved by Yuppies when new.
635i is one I quite fancy, always loved them as a kid. If you can find one without stellar mileages or even better a M635 cast iron classic.

I reckon 8 series BMW's will start heading north soon. In either V8 or V12 form.

Got to remind my future father in law that he was going to donate his 840 to me!

Love the 850 but unfortunately a decent manual is already expensive and the csi version is silly money

M635CSi and most M cars are already up there now.

I'm right on the mark now with my GTi's and Mx5, They have to be keepers for me. Will do car shows this year with them and enjoy every minute of them, there's something very rewarding about them.

Just on the job front, I put myself through the Class II HGV and got a job like that. Money is great at Class II, however I'm investing again into Class I and ADR for dangerous goods such as Fuels where a salary can be up to 45,000k for 4 days a week.

I love driving so its like I'm literally being paid for something I love.

Have to say, has been some sound advice, if slanted towards the Italian ;), on possible options here but to mix things up someone I work with has suggested going a bit further money wise if job goes t1ts up (50k) and getting 3 QPs for a wedding/hire business? Viable?

Good move
I have been asked several times to do similar functions in mine
I have obliged some friends and refused others

Possibly, you need to do some research, see if it is what potential customers want. It's totally different what 20 somethings want and what we would like. I thought about it when I had the white Espada, but reckon I would have got more work with the '63 500D.

I'm not convinced that's a money-maker that fits your criteria, Greg. QPs are still depreciating and running costs are high - you'd need to cover a lot of weddings to make any decent return IMO.

That is my initial worry mark. I could not stretch to 3 sports which will likely hold value if project went south ( not enough % work input in area to give plus money out ) giving some investment back.
