By beast, I assume you are talking about the cr4p live axle and questionable brakes! ;)

You're a bad man!

I had a 3.0L Capri like on the Clarkson video when I was younger, truly awful to drive but what a beast it could be and then the gear stick came off in my hand and I hit a wall!
Me too! Bright orange with a black vinyl roof.......and a bakers tray full of bricks in the boot ;)

This will only encourage you more, an amateurs summing up of his favourite toy:

...and a strategically shaved monkeys opinion:

Please stop!
My itch for the gtv is asleep and these videos and threads will wake it up again.

Your spider is looking better every time I see the pictures.
How is the restore going?
Those airbags won't pass an MOT :)

No it isn't, it's only got 6 pots, which is like asking for a double espresso and getting a lemon tea, without the tea! ;)

Those are the pics I took the day it turned up off the trailer (not the engine shot). Believe it or not, that is a cat D. No body damage, the sump took a whack, broke 2 engine mounts and set the airbags off. laughable that they wrote it off, just shows how lazy the insurance companies and repair garages are these days in our throw away society. Its a one owner, 25k mile car.

The car has been repaired, repainted inside and out, engine and underneath and is currently on my ramp awaiting for me to reassemble all the suspension and wishbones I have just stripped out and had powder coated. Even the wheels and callipers have all been repainted, see here for the full progress thread:

That was the paint condition when you bought it?!
I thought it was after it had been painted.
Looks like you did a very good deal there.

Mine moved the radiators across 3" never set an airbag off, geometry intact, and it's a C! Makes no odds to me as it's a keeper. All going well will be back on the road for the summer.
