Leeds Castle

Lovely setting at Leeds Castle last night - a few got there early enough for some photo opportunities.DSC_0863.jpgDSC_0865.jpg
Sweet run down today from Calais and dinner shortly.

Well, just got back from a recommended restaurant and, what can I say? Not the best meal I've (not) eaten. I went for the house speciality and boy, I wish I hadn't. It looked and smelt like the unwashed c0ck from a long dead camel. Robin said it was an offal sausage and tasted fantastic but I look on it as another excuse to hate the french. Why, oh why, don't they just throw the cr4p away and just eat the meat it comes wrapped in? Pizza, Chinese or MaccyDs for me from now on! Otherwise all good.

'andy willy? So Benny wasn't far off?

Last time I tried one of those, it was full of chewy bits that were definitely unidentifiable, for which fact I thanked my gods.

Benny, your cultural education is an example to us all :)

I suspect it was andouille. :)

You might well be right although I struggle to think why anyone would have given it a name. FWIW, I laid a pretty passable reproduction in my hotel room cr4pper which looked a lot better. Smelled better too. Didn't eat that one either.

A tripe sausage eh? Excellent! Perhaps not the finest choice for you :)

How are you with black pudding?

Much the same mate, haggis too. Can't see the point in eating bollox, feet, eyelids and foreskins, I'm never that hungry. Anyhoo, off for breakfast shortly and I'll bet my left kn4cker there won't be bacon, eggs, baked beans or edible sausage anywhere to be seen. One day, civilisation may get here, but I won't hold my breath.

How's the weather there guys and gals? I checked for Modena on thursday and looks good but weekend cloudy and thundery according to my app. It looks like Italy is poised for the rain and over here it is sunny.

Well OB, right now I'm eating breakfast outside on the terrace, bathed in sunshine, looking at the mountains. It's not too shabby...

UPDATE:

Day 2, set off from Troyes and headed on a mixture of A & B roads to Mulhouse.

We have just arrived at the Hotel Du Parc, underground parking a bit of a nightmare but we are in and the hotel is fantastic, really traditional, but very clean and up together, real character.

All cars running well, again some minor issues but nothing that has inhibited.

The full tribe are here and ready to set in for another gourmet session.
