Planning? Planning??

There was negligible planning involved... :D

Top man.

Drew,

That is harsh and untrue. There was absolutely no planning! :)

Just stopped for fuel for me and the car. I love the 100 RON fuel out here. The car runs quite well on it too!

Well... Bad news chaps.

It seems the Maserati factory PR company either reads or is given the information from this forum.

They have complained to the city councils in both Modena and Carpi, 'requesting' that they withdraw permission for us to mount a 'non-approved' display in the Piazzas. Obviously the mayors have complied with this, as a few Brits/French/Germans with Maseratis older than 3 months aren't as welcome as the people who have paid the factory for the official tour. Two emails arrived within 15 minutes of each other...

In essence, this means we can't park in the Piazza in Modena, or in Carpi. Or rather, if we do there will be an almighty fine. It's not a huge problem, just a slight change to what we had planned next weekend, but I can't say I'm happy about it.

Maserati and the town of Modena in particular need to have a good long think... It's astonishingly short sighted and leaves a very nasty taste in the mouth.

That stinks. Pathetic is all I can say.

Time to kick up a stink - people with such a small confidence in themselves that they feel threatened by their own customers and fans (their own word) would surely react to a local newspaper making a fuss...

I think a rolling blockade is called for..........who amongst the BMEF ( British Maserati Expedition Force) will head it up and take a fine or jail sentence??!!

No, I'm not surprised either. The whole arrangement of the Centenary has been against anyone not paying the vast sums to go with the official tour. Many of the UK Maserati Owner Club people have boycotted the event, as they were effectively excluded.

Can a meet up occur outside of official events or times in the two locations? What about the local Italian Maser fans thoughts etc?

We WERE meeting outside the official event times - not even on the same days...

The problem is that the Piazzas are not roads, they are in restricted traffic zones, and special permission is required to even drive to them. Obviously we could just drive there, but the fines are eye-watering

There must be somewhere to park near to or adjacent to one of these squares where we can show the cars? Let's **** them right off!

Its quite a strange patriarchal/hierarchical type society..........cultural thing....shame they've taken this stance, but new owners/big spenders are the ones who truly count, those of further down the foodchain don't matter

Ok, we are at lunch in Davos, are just taking this onboard at the moment; clearly we are taking this move very seriously and are coming up with a plan... May be best not to reveal it on here!

PM us Newton, or let the Italian naval authorities find a body wearing a Sportsmaserati T-shirt floating in the water off Livorno with a man bag containing your "secret" plans......;).....;)
