from what im thinking, £1500 give or take. would be the conversion start to Finnish.

Once ive got my hands on Catman's 4200 or anyone elses if they are close enough, for an hour or two i'll be able to firm a few things up. if the guys want to group up we can get the forum cars done for whome ever wants it , then look at making a "Kit" form and sell on with all profit going to the forum

the one thing i am still thinking on is if we can get hold of a set of 3200 rear corner's and boot lid, then make a mold from them , adjusting the rear 3200 corner's to fit 4200 it may work out cheaper again using slim line LED lights.
again in that scenario wold be cheaper to grab a write off 3200 grab the bits for the molding then sell on or fit the car

At this point in time, I'm going to pass. There's things that I can better spend £1500 on for now. Maybe in 6 months or so. So timing dependent.

That realy sounds very ambitious.
I payed 1500 (euro's) or the lights only.
Then i had to find two rear corners , a bootlid, a 3200 boot wiringloom including the two led drivermodules, and last but certainly not least.....i had quite some bodywork/spraywork to do.
Only if you have a black car and a lucky paintmaker, it could be possible to only spray the bootlid and rearcorners.
With any other colour this wil not be possible, because the slightest colourfailure will be
visable between the bootlid and the rearsidewings.
Believe me, the conversion will not be a simple or cheap job in the end.
Regarding my 2006 GS, i did not want to do any concession to finishquality either, what left no space at all for experiments or faillures.

that is using all 3200 part's. The way i see it is ether to fabricate the parts needed ie only 2 plates and use slim line LED's,
or make a job lot of rear corner's and boot lid from Fiberglass and also once again slim line LED's, but that was would be a hard return to standard
using the plates would be a easy return to standard.

I can see it working with thin LED's, its the development and manufacture of them I am struggling with at a realistic price for low volume.

Development of the LED can easily be done in house its just the lens that will require outsourcing and im working on that at the moment to get a price made up for an amount once i get get my hands on a set then i can give dimensions of the lens needed and get a fixed price but so far the estimates are coming in good.

Don't forget for road use the whole thing needs to be type approved with a EU certification number on the installation! this is where It's all going to go pear shaped.....TUV and MOT regs are basically the same

There are LED manufacturers who already make high powered LED lensed units and in different colours. You would need a narrow angle beam to maintain output, but they will defintely last for ages. You would also need a voltage control driver / transformer to ensure a steady voltage supply.

well if there a few company's out there that can make the lensed unit then that would be better
