i know you can get a conversion ket from G&S in Germany for about Euro 5,000. You get "Replacement for the original tailgate. Incl. assembly material, cable plans, rear lights original Maserati
3200, back lighting inserts"

Just buy a 3200 for looking at... Nearly as cheap

i think you could change them over but its the electrics that would need looking at as they have lights in the boot

If someone wants to rear end my car, I'll consider it :)

It has been done, though, hasn't it?

if the boot lids are inter changeable then that makes it even easier
making a plate for the boomerange lights to fit too is all thats really needed then painting that plate...

CT, wouldn't that leave them sicking out?

Quick poke at Eurospares indicates about £3.7k plus labour. I like your idea though, if I could understand it.
Boot is still £1000 inc lights.

No ...... you have a recess from the 4200 light section you have a plate to fill that section the plate and the 3200 lights attach together. once you slot the lights and plate into place it will be at the same hight (ie not sticking out) as the original 4200 light cluster. the wiring as i said will be easy so its the cost of getting the Boot.. (scrap dealer prices...300?-400?) the light cluster again from the scrappy ...(500?) having the plates made.. depending on the material say 100? then a respray for boot and plates..300? and im sure if i could get my hands on a 4200 and some 3200 lights i could knock up an adapter for it easy enough.

I get what Dave is saying, If you mount the lights and in doing so create the inner curve with a plate that fills the remaining part of the 4200 light cluster, that plate painted to match the car would fit in and mount as if a light, to meet regs you could mount a 2" reflector within that so no need for bumper mod. I think that our Dutch friend who did the full conversion had his blended so there is no panel join showing but he proved the outer curve is exactly the same on both models.
