Outrun, if over in May you could try and make it to the annual NIIMC day out in Lisburn. It is a good day out.

Guys, really it's not safe to be meeting up with people that you don't know from the internet!

I mean, we have no idea who Kyle really is ;)

Ian - I'm keen to meet up when the weather improves, not holding my breath though... we can start a new thread on the Events-Maserati section!

Could do, not sure how many people would be keen on swapping cars. Was just thinking we have a common interest in each other's cars and aren't too far away from each other. Either way, fine, meet up when the weather is better lol...

I saw a ghibli at an Ace cafe meet. I fell in love with the car there and then and decided to track one down. As I searched, my priorities changed - I wanted a daily driver - and so, I tuned my attenton to 4200s. I bought one of those almost four years ago, before chopping that in for my present QP in late 2012.

I can't now see myself without a Maserati in my life. Though this may change once I get behind the wheel of an F type coupe. :)

They are very compelling, that's for sure. The first UK cars did not arrive until spring/summer 99. Not sure if you saw one in Europe earlier?

Mine was delivered to Glenvarigill in May of 99 so was one of the first demo cars out there.. Sold to a Freda Tchaikovsky in 2000, got the original used sales invoice for it....

In fact if you could drive it out of their then Colinton showroom without having an accident it was a result.

They were bought about 6 or 7 years ago by Sytner and are now Graypaul. They had franchises for Porsche, Ferrari, Maserati, VW and a couple of others.

Yes, they basically went bust. Sytner built a big complex which sells Porsche, Ferrari/Maserati, Bentley and Lambo all side by side. It's on the east outskirts of Edinburgh and is convenient for next to no one in Scotland.

Fair point Ian - yes am happy to do that sometime midway...

Couldn't agree more Bob. Why would you build Scotland's only main dealer supercar in such an inconvenient place? Especially given the fact that three times as many people live West of Edinburgh. They must have got the land for a song. I suppose it was around the time that Porsche was forcing fancy new centres on all the dealers. The one that Sytner built in Glasgow is ridiculous. I heard it was £9M which would take a long time to recover!

Personally I'm happy with Graypaul but I'm reassured to know that another Maserati dealer is opening soon and, actually, not much harder to get to.
